That's always my toolbelt no matter what i do. I also play pvp and if i get ambushed i need my weapons and medkits ready. Also i love to loot people who put hundreds of building materials into their belt while working on their base.

Food that does not smell, something to hydrate me, a bow, tools like an axe and a pick (or early on a stone axe), A melee weapon, a firearm, applicable ammo arrows etc., a light (flashlight or torch if no mining helmet), a medicated bandage/s, appropriate clothing for the biome I intend to go to. And as much inventory space as one can muster! Minibike with a basket and gas when you have the bike too.

Toolbet:

1. Xbow
2. Magnum
3. MedKits
4. Fire-Axe
5. Pick-Axe

BackPack:
Stack of 44
250 Steel Bolts
X# Explosive Bolts

I eat and drink what I loot. Beer isn't really necessary after you level the stamina perks. Melee doesn't work well for me on MP even with virtually zero latency.

torches, bow/xbow, stone axe/fireaxe, mining axes or medkits, blank (punching, wrench, hunting knife), scrap frames, food, water.

Backpack goes something like:

Wood X X X X X X X
Stone X X X X X X X
Fiber X X X X X X X
Arrows or Bolts, Iron, Feathers, forged iron if I have it, one or two clothing items, items I use in the empty toolbelt slot

Since I'm semi-nomadic I like to make sure I can always make large numbers of basic things on the fly, without having to spend much time finding/harvesting them first.
