Nailgun is one/click/to/upgrade so yes it is better. also there is a quest (Nail some chicks) which you can only do with the nailgun.

Make sure your lootng skill is at 100 and loot all Working Stiff Tools boxes you can find. Also garage boxes and lumberjacks if i remember correctly.

I have found two nailguns in all of alpha 14. They aren't a guarentee. That could be my luck, but either way they don't come easy. I even tossed the first one thinking "level 1! WTF!". Oh how stupid I felt.

nailguns arent necessarily better than the hammer...just faster.
both are 1 click upgrades.
if you are only upgrading a frame to the 1st level of wood or iron, the hammer is the way to go.
if you are trying to max-upgrade something to the final level, then nailgun.

I beg to differ that there is no difference. Some things are always upgraded in one step - like concrete -> steel. So there is no difference there when it comes to tolls. But others (wood->iron for example) have up to four steps and then there is a huge difference. If I remember correctly:
Stone axe (4), Calw hammer (3), Wrench (2), Nailgun (1).

Nailgun quality color is messed up. It's always gray. But KEEP THEM: They are pretty rare. Also it is useable as a weapon as long as you have NAILS for ammo. :)

The nail gun is an urban legend. A myth. The Loc Nes of 7D2D.
Errr... at least, that's what I tell myself having played this game for at least 2 years and never having found one.

i naver said there wasnt a difference, just that the nailgun and hammer upgrade in exactly the same amount of hits. nailgun is just much faster.
stone axe=4 hits per upgrade.
wrench=2
hammer=1
nailgun=1
