GUIDE - MINIBIKE BUG WORK-AROUNDS
Ok so everybody knows the minibikes are bugged.

I just want to share some of my experience with some ways i have found around these bugs.
Note that these "tehniques" are not 100% accurate and not 100%complete(as in i don't know if there are any better ways to avoid minibike bugs)

OK so

Situation nr. 1

Your minibike falls through the texture (you fall through a gap in the map as you're driving)
So the work-arounds ive found here are these:

Quickly press escape -> quit game -> recconect to the server.
This is the best way to avoid dying and furtherly have your backpack situated....under the map,and never be able to retrieve it.
If you're lucky enough,your minibike is still somewhere near you after you reconnect.
Just listen to the humming sound of the engine,and start diging around it. If it's there you're gonna pull it out

To avoid falling through the texture(so often at least),build a low spec minibike(at least engine/battery wise).
I think this bug occures because the minibike moves faster than the loading of the map/ground textures ahead

A minibike that is LESS LIKELY to get stuck under the map or whatever should look like this
Chassis - Doesn't matter
Handlebars - Doesn't matter
Seat - Doesn't matter
Wheels -> 290-400
Engine -> 290-310
Battery -> 290-350

This is what i found to be the best balance between minibike travel speed and fall chance.
Minibikes with lower spec engines/batteries/wheels will work even better ,but they will be somewhat slow.

Situation nr.2

You can see your minibike next to you but can't acces it

Workaround : Relog fast or press hold E and try to dismantling and reasambling it.

Situation nr.3

Your minibike dissapears after hopping off

In my minibike expedition i had my minibike dissapear next to me 3 or 4 times.
The most influential factors that i've observed are : ground/zombies/level of interraction

Ground :Avoid leaving it on ground such as dirt/forest ground/snow/sand/etc for an extended period of time without any vision of it. Try placing it on asphalt/house stairs/house floor/any type of built solid floor . I never had a minibike dissapear on solid ground

Zombies : NEVER fight zombies just after you leave your vehicle. NEVER fight zombies near your vehicle. For some reason if you suddenly exit the minibike to fight a zombie right off,the minibike has a let's say 70% chance of dissapearing(I don't know why).
When you need to fight zombies,leave your minibike further on solid ground.

Interraction : Certain types of interractions might maket he minibike dissapear

Mining/digging/blowing up terrain next to it might modify the terrain structure on which the path of the bike is currently recorded on and ultimately make it dissapear or crumble.

Fighting/Pvp/Using explosives around it might also make it bugg out and dissapear.

Looting/building/etc next to it might also affect the minibike but im not certain yet.

Tips & Tricks

Don't randomly leave your minibike around if you don't have a padlock. Players will be able to steal it and run away with it. Hell,maybe even run you over.

A full tank of gas is aound 1700-1750 gas. You can aquire gas the easiest from hitting cars with a wrench/mining pickaxe/fire axe or from gas stations. The wrench is (i think) the most effective on scavenging gas from cars,and also gives you other parts such as engines,batteries,headlights,leather,cloth,short iron pipes,springs,scrap iron and oil.

Avoid storing important stuff in the minibike's storage basket since it can easily bug out.
I heard of a case where a player had his minibike dissapear in mid-drive.

If you see a strange,mirorr-like hole that resambles a lake which you can see through,avoid it or brake suddenly.That is missing texture that hasn't been yet loaded,the type of texture gaps you fall through with your minibike Pressing SPACE will make your bike stop dead in it's tracks. I also reccomend doing this everytime you exit vehicle,since leaving it while driving without using the brake might,yet again,make it be gone forever.

Note that this guide is not 100% accurate and it's 99% based on my personal experience while playing on the latest patch.

If you have any questions/suggestions please voice them in a comment.

Have a good one !

mine disappeared on the road outside hub city when i was away from it for a day and night cycle. just mentioning because it was on the asphalt. i just respawned it with creative. i did fight some zombies near it though and didnt check on it afterwards so that may have been it.

Good job. Many of the same things I have observed with the engine being no more than a blue is a must. With heavily populated servers a 350 or less is advisable. Thanks for a, well i guess it's a positive post on the mini.

a little of both i guess. your welcome. at least its easy to respawn it when it goes. never had one disappear while riding it though, that would be awkward.

oh and a belated thank you for the work around post.

Nice summary.

One time I suddenly fell through the world while riding... and upon relogging couldn't see my minibike. By luck there was a visual glitch and I "saw" the bike in a cave below the surface. If there is a cave nearby it might be down in it.

Maybe I am just lucky, but I have not had any mini-bike issues since the last patch. I do tend to park it on wood frames when I am not planning on using it for awhile.

That's usually the best choice. If you wanna be extra safe everywhere you go put a ramp and two frames to get it up :D

Hey man i'm just working with what i'm given. Which is a 22 euros game with frustrating bugs. All i did was adapt to the situation in the meantime ^^ . Cheers
