For instance, it is EXTREMELY common for smaller Japanese game developers to contract another company to localize their games overseas.
Because they're a publisher. Lots of independent developers use Origin, Ubi, Teltale, etc., for publishing & distribution.
Excellent point, to elaborate...... getting past all the red tape of world wide distribution must be a nightmare. If TT like you said has already done this the console version will be distributed all around the globe following the last title they shipped with far less time/trouble than if TFP wanted to do the same thing.
Telltale was sold the rights to develop the game on console only. TFP is still making the PC game and there are no planned changes relating to this. Telltale has their own dev team the will optimize and balance the game as they see fit for console. Telltale will also use their Walking Dead licensing to make some TWD character skins you won't see in the PC version. Beyond that everything that is being added to the PC version still will not be in the console game. Or will be sold as DLC.
So TFP is the sole developer for 7D2D on PC and there is no publisher.
Telltale is the Publisher for the console version, and they have their own dev team working on it. Iron something er other... ( I forget the dev teams name
You don't know much seemingly. Even though much has been explained to you, and links have been provided. So you should know the console version will not get everything the PC one will. That was established. The console version will be out in June. This game will still be in Alpha development for PC by TFP in June and well past that.
You can also safely assume there will be no disc (hard copy) version of this game for PC when done too. Extra cost for no benefit is the reason why not.
We ALL don't know much at this point ^^
But what is known has been put in lights, and the same questions keep coming despite the information being available and provided again here beyond that. That was the point I was getting at.
Yeah, true.
The joke is that there will be a console version to begin with. The punch, that it will come out in 2 months when the Pc version is not nearly ready.
The irony? It's possible thanks to the PC gamers that supported this game with their money.
TFP has its hands full *developing the game*. TTG is *porting* what TFP does to console. Unless you're playing on the console it won't make a difference to you. And if you're playing on the console then its the difference between getting the game 'soon' and having to wait for TFP to either finish 7DTD and then shift focus to console porting (with the understanding that they'll have to tear their team apart and rebuild it to do so) or TFP finding money to add in a port division, along with the management expertise needed to keep them on track.
