Open the serverconfig on your dedicated server and change the game name to be hte same as the one you want to import. Then it should use that map.

The files I got from steam cmd I installed in a different location, does that matter? I am not using the batch file found in the game install.

The save files are all located in the same folder which is different from the game/server install location. Saves are stored here:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\Saves

As such it shouldn't matter that the game and server are on two different locations - they draw the save data from the same folder anyway. Or should.

You go to the dedicated server location. Open its serverconfig file. There is a property here called GameName.

<property name="GameName" value="My Game"/>

Change the value "My Game" to have the same name as the save map you want the server to use.

Thanks this works. Though there is no CMD console to monitor server? How do I shut it down?

The lack of a GUI for it is a bit mind-boggling. I find it equally annoying. To shutdown the server you have to be in the server (and have admin permissions) and enter the command shutdown in the in-game console.

OR you launch Windows Task Manager and manually end the process "7DaysToDieServer.exe"

I don't see an admin file though.
