Concrete Slabs
What's the purpose of concrete slabs? I've placed some on the ground, but you can't place anything on top of them. I figured I would place the concrete slabs around the foundation of my house (prevent zombies from digging), but I can't place spike on them or anything (unlike concrete blocks)

remember they take up a full block just like any other. Have you tried putting them in the middle of block and shooting through them ;)

or you can put them on the two blocks above your spikes on your wall for extra protection.

As long as their cost is the same 10 concrete like a whole concrete block, they seem pretty useless

just dig down on space, place the the slap so the block shows down in the whole with the slab on top. now you can place anything on it.

you can also use the slabs ( listed as plate, there are many kinds) as a wall, so it take up less visual room. same prinicple applies, have the green part of the block pointed AWAY from the direction you want the slab to show. they are also quite nice as like a counter, with the green part against the floor, and the plate part on top. then you can put storage boxes, or campfire, etc on top of the plate. This looks nice instead of an all block counter.

I used as walls for the second story of my second base and I'm regretting it as it seems screamers are often able to see through them. Not 100% sure yet but since I started using forges here 3/4 have done their summoning scream while all doors were shut and it should not have line of sigh to me.

Some prefabs have a concrete slab "shelf" under their upper floor windows, so the Pimps just included it in the crafting menu for full compatibility.

with proper placement, you can make a floating base with them.

I guess you would have to place them inside the ground and not ontop, considering you can't seem to place anything on them (like you can concrete blocks).

you place 1 flat with the green box up.
then place the next one with the green box down.
you now have almost a 2 voxel gap that can be walked through.
