Night time activities?
Hi all! I'm new to this game and I've already run into my first issue... What to do at night. It's far too dangerous to go out travelling, and it's certainly not worth it when there isn't any difference in resources that can be found during day/night. I've also realized I can't sleep at night to pass time!(Which I mean kind of makes sense in itself due to the nature of the game and the constant threat of zombies). But in the first week there seems to really be nothing to do at all! I'm still using stone and wood. I'm struggling with food and water due to having to be awake 24/7.

What do I do at night?

I've used the night time to level up in crafting early in the game. I'll make a ton of stone axes and wooden clubs because they require little resources. You could also spend the time upgrading walls to your base if you have one. Or mining, you could make a pretty sweet underground base with little threat of zombies interfering.

Craft, mine, craft, mine, craft, mine, craft. Something like that.

if you arent near anything you can gather- and if its early in game- the best thing to do is try and stay safe and wait it out... otherwise.. if you find a town you can always sneak from building to building and scavange.. or if you find a cliff side-- start diggin a cave --- just take that trusty stone axe and have at it... keep plenty of plant fiber stone and wood on hand though to keep making axes... and have torches too to light up the walls..

And if you get too incredibly bored, just exit the game, change the time setting and do the same at the new day.

But crafting should definiely be a priority. Gather feathers, stone, wood and plant fiber during the day. Make a ton of arrows then start spamming weapons. If you have left over fiber, make clothes, scrap them and keep going.

I like to Mine at night... I usually have a Mine a short distance from my Main Base...as night approaches..I head to my Mine... work until daylight.

hey guys mine crashes the minute i go to look around?
Well I normally build about 40 or more arrows two bows an iron club which is easy to get by just mining rocks a few axes and shovels this will allow you to either hold up at night or mine at night. As for the crashing turn your grass to near graphics and I turn everything to low or disabled just to have better fps.

Mine or quit go into settings set daytime lengh to 10 minutes. Go back into the game let it run quickly to 4 am quit put daytime lenght to what you desire and njoy. no need to sit it out if you not so desire.

I myself do a lot of crafting and sometimes mine if I need to. I have a couple of friends that I play with so I have no fear of going outside and gather wood. One or two zombies might show up but I usually see no resistance and can do what I please as long as I don't stray too far from my base.

Until you get to know the game you can turn off zombies running at night and turn down the difficulty setting so you don't get so many zombies. You still have to keep an eye out for dogs as they always run.

I recommend playing with zombies on always run, that way when night comes around you'll be so used to them that it wont even phase you, unless there is a horde. Even then just make sure you have some beer or grain alcohol on hand so you can run from them if it gets too overwhelming. If fighting at night isn't your thing then I would recommend using the time to organize your gear, craft upgrades, cook, make forge items, or just mine for base resorces.

If you have nothing left to do Alt-Tab to desktop and read the forums (whilst the game's sound & music will indicate any suspicious activity ingame :)

I normally invite the neighbourhood zombies over for a party.
