Finding springs

I haven't played this game for awhile I think the last time I played was the very beginning of A13. I know they made alot of changes since then. Are springs still found randomly? Is there anything in particular that is a sure fire place to find them? All I want to do is build an f-ing concrete machine so I can build an underground bunker. It is so assinine all the hoops you have to jump through to make concrete.

wrench apart beds and car frames for a fair amount of springs.

Double sized beds,1 turn of the wrench, hardly any noise, no metalic grinding, quiet clunk.
metal framed beds, 3 turns of the wrench, noticable metal grinding.
Automobiles, depending on condition, many turns of the wrench, unbelievable metallic grinding, backpack filling secondary clutter. ;)

I haven't played vanilla 7DtD for a while as I have been playing mods but I am pretty sure you don't need a cement mixer to make concrete. The mixer is faster but not required anymore.

Yeah it isn't. If you need to crush some stone it's great but for making concrete, not required.
