Why am I so Hungry???
Is it just me... or does it seem that Hunger and Thirst go down rather quickly. In RL I have a pretty good appetite, but I still don't eat as much as my Character does; of course he is a bit more active than I am - LOL.

But seriously... it seems like I'm spending more time looking for food and water than anything else. 2 to 3 meals per 24 hour period should suffice.

Yeah, they increased the thirst and hunger quite a bit. I think you go through more food/water when you are active more i.e. chopping trees, running etc.

I think it's normal for thirst to go down fast ... but food? I think the character hunger should not be as fast.

what I also don't understand Is why some food affect thirst negatively ... when we technically know that even meat you've cooked yourself or even boiled meat contain water in it. like why cooked porks does not affect thirst but that cooked venison affect it's?

Doing activities drains food.

I agree that physical activities do and should increase hunger... just not by so much. I agree with LemonFed that Thirst should be a greater factor from activities, but seriously; even someone who is physically active all day, doesn't eat that much... but we do tend to drink more based on Heat and Activity.

I am on the early stages of the game, and right now food is hard to come by, and I find myself constantly looking for food, and by the time I find it, I need it... and I'm back to looking for more. it doesn't give me a lot of time for much else.

Water isn't as bad now that I have a decent supply of jars, a water source and the ability to boil it. But this food thing is a bit much.

This dude used to eat cans and bottles and you want to talk about how much he eats? He still chews through a bottle of aspirin and takes antibiotics by the fist full. He can rip the skin from a deer like most people rip a piece of paper. He can tear metal pipes into strips with his bare hands and still you question his eating habits? You chop a tree down with less than 10 hits with a fireaxe. Better still try to break a boulder with a stone axe..see how long that takes. As far as I'm concerned this guy can eat whatever he wants whenever he wants.

LOL - Well... I guess if you put it that way!! ROFL!!!

it's not game breaking but it's kind off funny seeing one character having to eat as much as an army to just be able to feel good .... xD ... oh yeah I get it ... we're not playing humans being ... we're playing mutants from outer space that came to colonize earth and that's explain everything.

like this video explain everything....

I am new to this game but I agree, it is ridiculous how hungry this guy gets even from doing nothing. Considering how hard it can be when you first start out with no food and eating moldy bread and drinking murky water...

Maybe make the hunger level hover for quite a while towards the bottom and make the character angry and weak (just as I am, without food) before having them peal over and die of hunger.

I would like to see the hunger and hydration levels react a bit more realistically. The average human can survive without water for roughly 3 days, and over a week without food. Now while this would be a little excessive for the game it would still be nice to see it addressed with a bit more realism. Maybe 2 days no water, and 3 days no food. Instead of potentially starving to death in less than 24 hours or turning in to a nice slab of human jerky in less than 24 hours lol.

Totally agree , a good balance between realism and gameplay would be the best choice.

Can the average human run 100's of miles while downing cactus juice and not die? Can the average person chop trees and break boulders with their bare hands? Let's be realistic and keep realism out of this game. (see my comment above)

Using a sharpstone could be a requirment to skin a animal without crippling gameplay ... realism things that would not beat down the gameplay should be considered at least.

No, but the guy in the game can also not run 100's of miles without mass consumption of food and water.

Tell that to the devs as they strive to bring more realism in to the game. It is ridiculous that every charactor is a master blacksmith, a master at weaving, sewing, farming, marksmanship, well beyond tri-athlete. This is all true, however in the sense of trying to bring even a small ammount of realism to the game, one of the first things to address would be the highly improbable metabolism. If we are to just simply leave any and all realism out of this game then lets just get rid of needing to eat and drink, get rid of armor, farming, and really just about everything else. A minor complement of realism can go a long way, where as too much realism can break the entire game. A middle ground is needed.

I completely agree... and personally, I think the 3 days without water...and 5 to 7 without food would be fine; the balance would be in Stamina for Running and Fighting depleting faster... as well as Reduced strength... causing it to take longer to complete task such as chopping, mining and even crafting.

@SoulChaser - I think we get it... this isn't real life... it's just a game. But it would still be nice not to die after a few hours without food. As well... if you consider the fact that a Minute of game time goes by in less than a minute, then technically cutting down trees in 20 wacks (which takes about 10 minutes game time) is closer to reality than dieing because you missed Lunch.
