If i wanted to to hear random people:
1. Singing Out of Key Loudly.
2. Farting.
3. Making random animal noises.
4. Arguing with their GF's, Wives, Sisters, Roomates.
I would go out and hang out in bars.

Edit: I forgot to add Playing music that I hate overly Loud.
P.S. for those people who think you are "treating others" to your favorite music at 100+ db.
please remember it is being transmitted through a crappy $10 Mic and perhaps as well through crappy $10 speakers on our end.

Didn't voice chat work only for people in your in-game friends list?

waite, what?
In audio section click enable voice and V is your push to talk so if you see a guy and you both have enabled voice you can hear each other.

i kinda hope that the sound of people talking through the voice chat attracts nearby zombies. that would be epic.

earth to moron, earth to complete moron, it's Push To Talk so it would be an incredible feat for them to pump music out all the time. but it seems that people don't know what a good sound card is because their microphones are too quiet anyway

btw we encountered a bug where i didnt have a mic here and tried to enable it on a server (possibly modded server not sure), and when i enabled it, the game kept bring up the console screen with dts red error messages whenever they spoke.. i had to run away to be able to have enough time to disable voice chat again via options LOL :)

suggestion - to change it so that requirements for Speaking and requirements for Listening are separate please. thanks

Not really, plenty of people can keep it help down, don't even need to use a hand. Besides, many people tend to be obnoxious, very much like you seem to be.
