Easy place to get short iron pipes?

I'm trying to farm resources to establish a base, so I'm using my shovel, pickaxe, and Fireaxe often, but I need to repair them to stop them from breaking after long use. I know loot is random, but is there any place or type of loot container that has short iron pipes spawning often?

Zombies and loot are random but both drop them. Best way to do it is to make them out of iron ingots. Check the wiki if you need help but break it down into forged iron then use the forged iron to make the short iron pipes. You should get 4 forged iron per ingot and 3 short iron pipes per forged iron so 12 short iron pipes if you do it that way.

A/C Units respawn Iron Pipes regularly.
Toilets will give you one after they are destroyed with a pickaxe (I think Drinking Fountains, too).

Or make them...... Ingot // Forging Iron // Short Iron Pipe

Break a toilet if you find one nearby. Other than that garbage bags. It's easier to actually melt the almot broken tool (you'll get half the material you put in), and just make a new one.

I find that the "sink" cabinet will drop them more often than other containers.

most reliable way is breaking a toilet.....as Aedile said
