How to build a roof?

Tried Google and YouTube. I have no idea how to put a roof over my shelter. I want to learn as much as I can before I hit multiplayer.

There is many ways this can be done. One thing that does not change is you will need to support it. This will be trial and error as for how much support you will need. If nothing else you can turn on the crafting ability so you have acces to everything at a push of a button. Or to make is just a lettle easer you can shut off the zombies, and you will be able to gather what you need and build in pease. I would start will making frames ( rebar or wood frames ) and up grade them

build your framing under in and shingles on top of them till you get to a peak then use 4 corners to make a peak.

There are many ways to do it, easiest is probably just to go into creative and figure it out. The best way imo is to make the wood frame ramps "hang" from a wood frame wall, then keep hanging new ones on top of them, do this from both sides until they meet in the middle. You might need a support in the middle to do this, I believe they can "hang" 6 blocks out, make sure you upgrade them as it strengthens their ability to carry.

It's really hard to explain how to do this but basically two sides of the building should be "leaning in" to make the roof effect, while the other two provide the support. Think pyramid when building this. Always go one block up to the left or right when building the attict, or roof section.
