7 Days to Die

Statistiche:
Zomies need to swim. Or float. Or have swimming Zombies
My buddies and I found a gazebo that was fully over a lake. It was GG for zombies.

There are places in the world NOW, that if you swim in them, you will catch diseases that can kill you, but if the water is boiled, it's drinkable. I didnt' say the water had to be irradiated, but there is certainly a precident for contaminated water that isn't also irradiated. think, for a moment, about all those standing pools of water you fill up from; in a world with diseases, that stagnant water will certainly do one on ya. All I'm saying is that you can injest it and get sick, but you can swim in it all day and not be effected at all, doesn't tack.

The person I originally said "We have to drink that water man don't do that XD" to, was the one whom said irradiated. You quoted that response. I was clarifying what I was talking about. No where did I imply you said it was irradiated.

I know the mertis of boiling water though and I don't disagree with what you are saying. You just missed the point of what I was saying twice in a row now is all ;)

My bad. Thanks for being reasonable about it.

Yeah, that's really the point there. We know that the supports aren't limtless-- but even if we do lose the gazebo, we're still floating in deep water-- safe and unphased.

They should add floating mechanics would be awesome to build a boat. though then again youd be invincible if you could do that.
or would you?
what about hunger, and thirst?
Unless you make an entire plantation on a boat, you can't last forever.
And if you do you'd eventually have to go to the main land for supplies, like wood to boil water

Step one. Shovel up snow balls.
Step two. Build a campfire with cooking pot
Step three. use jars or cans to melt the water
Step four . Don't use lakes/river

I know how to use snow, thanks tips. Poisoning the water remains :shit: idea though. Snow is the least common biome to find.

considering how much radiation there is around us, snow, rain (and thus lakes) should all be radiation poisoned anyway

you can grow trees on floating platforms, along with enough food to sustain yourself indefinately

it's a boring way to play, but its totally possible to build floating platforms in this game out on a lake that are 100% zombie proof and never run out of wood or food since it can all be farmed

solar with electic boil, lures as bait or a net, you can live on just fish (and seaweed) for quite along time (until you get scurvy from little/no vit C) lemon juice is an effective prevention and would require little space for an effective cure (brisish navy used to give sailors lemonjuice, german navy use to give out apfelwein (brewed beverage made from apples)

The game is in Arizona, these are lakes not oceans, no seaweed

random SP map? could make a case that its not - sea would be awsome. - also lakes have plant matter that can be used as food.

Lot of unknown factors there. I'll give you the wasteland biome, but for game sake we need sources of fresh water realism aside. :bummer:

It's set in AZ state, and that state does not have a sea or any coast line for that matter. Otherwise there would be fricken zombie sharks with fricken lazer beams to be concerned about lol

I wasn't suggesting they actually change it in gameplay, just commenting on the absurb reality of it all

With you trapped in the middle of a radiation zone of this size the weather would eventually just kill you from radiation poisoning

but it's a game, so whatever

Zombie lazer sharknado?
How about this?.......

1) Make it so there is a chance of you getting a disease from swimming in the water due to a chance of swallowing some. Who here hasn't swallowed pool water when swimming at one point? Since there is already a chance of getting sick from drinking it without boiling it first...no brainer.

2) make a swimming a skill. Give perks like breath control to lessen the chance of swallowing water (see #1) or like a pro swimmer and use less stamina (see 2.a)

2,a) Make it so swimming or just treading water in place takes stamina and not just when fast swimming. Ever been swimming? It takes a lot of energy to even just tread water.

3) Have underwater pillars attractive to zeds like doors are on land. So if they can't get to you directly, then they target them to bring you down and get to you.

4) Have bloated zeds float (as was mentioned on here) and other zeds "climb" on them like they do at the base of your walls. Or just let them all float and able to float to your lake base, then use the ladder like you do to climb up.

I know they are not perfect ideas, but it's just something to think about. Problem is the players can think up ways to stay safe faster than the devs can impliment ways to destroy us..lol

But there's all kinds of horrible things that can happen to you while swimming, even without a zombie apocalypse!

Yes, of course.
Sometimes you go get food. Sometimes you go get water.
That has nothing to do with surviving the night by treading water.
Don't forget parasites. There's one that latches onto a fish gill, eats itwas wayt inside the fish and comnsumes the tounge. It then lacthes on with it's back 'legs' to the muscles in the mouth and feeds on the fishes blood while also consuming the tounge. It in effect consumes the tounge, feeds from an artery and becomes a living, vapiric prosthetic, using its connection to the fishes muscles to be able to simulate it's whole body moving as a tounge to help the fish eat so it can still consume enough to survive and thus feed the parasite. These things were used in a movie dapatation about a mutant variotion that could not only infect a human in a similiar fashion, but could completely take over the hosts body and mind. I'm not suggesting tfp rip off that movie, but it's an example of how some pretty disgusting stuff actually does live in the water. For that matter, if you'll rcall, there is a brain eatting fungus that lives in the water in the southern unites states areas that occasionally kills a couple of people a year when they go swimming in stangant water pools. Zombies arent the only things out there eager to consume your brains!
