My bad. Thanks for being reasonable about it.
what about hunger, and thirst?
Unless you make an entire plantation on a boat, you can't last forever.
And if you do you'd eventually have to go to the main land for supplies, like wood to boil water
considering how much radiation there is around us, snow, rain (and thus lakes) should all be radiation poisoned anyway
you can grow trees on floating platforms, along with enough food to sustain yourself indefinately
it's a boring way to play, but its totally possible to build floating platforms in this game out on a lake that are 100% zombie proof and never run out of wood or food since it can all be farmed
solar with electic boil, lures as bait or a net, you can live on just fish (and seaweed) for quite along time (until you get scurvy from little/no vit C) lemon juice is an effective prevention and would require little space for an effective cure (brisish navy used to give sailors lemonjuice, german navy use to give out apfelwein (brewed beverage made from apples)
The game is in Arizona, these are lakes not oceans, no seaweed
random SP map? could make a case that its not - sea would be awsome. - also lakes have plant matter that can be used as food.
Lot of unknown factors there. I'll give you the wasteland biome, but for game sake we need sources of fresh water realism aside.
It's set in AZ state, and that state does not have a sea or any coast line for that matter. Otherwise there would be fricken zombie sharks with fricken lazer beams to be concerned about lol
I wasn't suggesting they actually change it in gameplay, just commenting on the absurb reality of it all
With you trapped in the middle of a radiation zone of this size the weather would eventually just kill you from radiation poisoning
but it's a game, so whatever
Zombie lazer sharknado?
1) Make it so there is a chance of you getting a disease from swimming in the water due to a chance of swallowing some. Who here hasn't swallowed pool water when swimming at one point? Since there is already a chance of getting sick from drinking it without boiling it first...no brainer.
2) make a swimming a skill. Give perks like breath control to lessen the chance of swallowing water (see #1) or like a pro swimmer and use less stamina (see 2.a)
2,a) Make it so swimming or just treading water in place takes stamina and not just when fast swimming. Ever been swimming? It takes a lot of energy to even just tread water.
3) Have underwater pillars attractive to zeds like doors are on land. So if they can't get to you directly, then they target them to bring you down and get to you.
4) Have bloated zeds float (as was mentioned on here) and other zeds "climb" on them like they do at the base of your walls. Or just let them all float and able to float to your lake base, then use the ladder like you do to climb up.
I know they are not perfect ideas, but it's just something to think about. Problem is the players can think up ways to stay safe faster than the devs can impliment ways to destroy us..lol
But there's all kinds of horrible things that can happen to you while swimming, even without a zombie apocalypse!

Hooray nature!
Yes, of course.
Sometimes you go get food. Sometimes you go get water.
That has nothing to do with surviving the night by treading water.
