Dog Day?

Is dog day still a thing? The last few maps that we've started have had no dogs on day 5 etc. Was just wondering if it was taken out or not so we don't get too comfortable and get ganked by dogs if we are out and about on those days. TIA.

I've seen them on day 5 and on other days. Just had a pack of 4 attack my base on night 3. I don't really see them as very dangerous tho. Just don't get cornered.

Thanks. Not really that worried. Husband is handy with a pistol. Was just curious because the last few maps we've made we haven't seen any at all. :)

no dog days anymore, they added a bellows recipe that uses leather which means you can have a forge built before the end of day 1 very easily

so no need to send a pack of dogs on day 5

if you want a dog day any day of the week just spend 10 seconds in the wasteland biome

Dog hordes still exist. They've just been pushed back a week so the earliest that you "should" be seeing them is day 12 as long as you don't mess with the spawning.xml.

Yeah they are just postponed since some people cannot handle 3 dogs on day 5, additionally dog hordes have been dumped down in number, just look at alpha 12 footage, a early dog horde was actually a "horde" and not "a couple".

If you do not see your dog horde from day 12, you'll most likely just have been on the move, since the dog horde isn't even feral skipping them happens a lot without even trying.

Barn dogs, junkyard dogs, and random wasteland/hub city dogs are still a thing so you need to be careful. It's even possible for a few POI burning forest dogs to exist too.

I saw 5~6 dogs run nearby my base toward one direction times and so lucky they didn't see me^^

Fine dog days are back, i can accept that.

how bout a dog specific trap we can " bait " that attracts them ?

basically mm said having a dog horde on day 5 wasn`t giving players enough time to prepare for the day 7 horde, so they changed it so the dog horde starts after the 7th day horde although i have experienced dog hordes on day 1 and 3 with 8 dogs in a pack and a total of 3 packs each on those days.

well they do spawn on day 5 but it can be easy to miss if you travel a lot or they might spawn during the night and just run along asuming they wont find you - > so yes they are still there :) i know cuz yest i had a dog horde on day 5 -> smalish one 3-4 of them and thats it

Interesting, because my first encounter with A15 was completly reverse.

I created a new game, named it and started on Warrior difficulty, everything was okay untill i went on wasteland biome... First dog started chasing me, I hopped on a tree (don't ask how, I bugged myself into a damn tree) then I saw second dog running around like an idiot after me, then there was third, fourth... I'll add everything happened on Day 1.

Well, ferals/cops, in A14 were appearing mostly on wasteland and cities, dogs were mostly spawning in burned forest biome, so dog days are probably gone, I haven't seen them since A13, so maybe they are Day 7 and biome related spawns only now? That's my guess.

But this spawn rate with dogs was really insane and I like it, differences in biome spawns is a good thing, but I wonder if it was only me or dogs really now spawn like mad on Wasteland.

I had none (that I saw) on day 5. But 2 packs of 2 dogs on day 12. (checked in console it was in fact a wandering horde of dogs)
