+1 you are never stuck in a hole when you can think outside the box.
Not true, I once dug in as I started on a server a game hour away from night. I survived the night only to have bear fall in the hole and block my only escape. The stone shovel I had was too damaged to dig a new way out, I had no weapon yet, and the bear prevented need poling. Most the time you will have a way out, but never say never lol
You could have used the sand (if it was the placeable type) and climbed out. From now on always carry wood frames. Will help you get out of holes or get on top of buildings and much much more. Right now in A15 I use them to make a quick 2wide 3long 3high platform in the begining of the game to kill dogs with my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bow on hard dificulty.
