traitor joel's loudspeaker
just tested the sound from that godaweful deafmachine is not tied to any volume slider within player's control my headset was turned down to 50% volume mixer had the game set at 45% and the game itself was at 1%! i could not hear zombies, campfire crackling, not a single thing except joel's loud crap at 100% volume. im not playing this crap.

i would ask for help on the 7d2d main site....but their forums have a database error.....wonderful.

Open the sound.xml and search for this:

Yeah, you kinda need to find a balance lol
Personally I don't mind the mining helmet bright "sunlight"... just don't use it near other light sources and you'll be all right. ;-]

Ok, you made me think about that so I think I found out a solution.
You need to replace this two properties in the <miningHelmet> object (ID=464) in you ITEMS.XML with this
<property name="LightSource" value="lightSource" /> <property name="ActivateObject" value="lightSource" />
It *should* work, but I didn't test it. :-]

This fix doesn't work. Necroing because I haven't been able to find a solution to this problem.
Every time the trader beeps I get a worse shock than being jumped on by a pack of feral zombie dogs.

That's why necroing is bad... what worked a long time ago could not work today.
