You can nose dive into the ground and barely damage it, in my experience.
The controls aren't particularly 'unrealistically easy'; But they're not flight sim either. Smooth takeoff and landing will be the hardest skill to it, once you're in the air it's a cake walk.
The way the controls are set, you'll basically be either bending forward of backwards for speed or slowing down. Turning around while flying is super janky and you can accidently crash by it. Landing but not taking damage is also pretty difficult.
Do be warned, you'll have vultures on your tail in a gyro as they hit you and there's nothing you can do about it
I just think that's going to be easier/faster than getting potentially conflicting opinions here.
One of the most common mistakes people make is thinking that gyrocopter = helicopter. It's not, it's more like a plane and handles like one. (People who claim to be familiar with gyros have actually said it's very accurate)
It's not hard at all to actually fly once you are in the air. Taking off though is probably the one thing that requires some practice and experience, and some level tree-free space to do it in.
The biggest problem I have with the gyro is accidentally hitting the E key and bailing out at altitude. Other than that it's fun.
But remember, it needs a pretty good runway to take off. Though you can, with practice, drop it into tight spots like a rooftop, then put it in your pocket until you find a suitable take off area.
Agree, this is the worst part. Eventually, you will accidentally hit the E key and Die.
It works. Honestly if you can get airborne and at like a 45 degree angle upwards, you're good. Only thing that will stop you at that point is if you hit something that either knocks you to the ground or angles you downwards again.
