They addressed the major issues and gave a general thought that they were being worked on. No time table or details.
They touched on what they felt was important, said their piece and wont go any deeper.
They probably all approved that post and worked on it over time.
They said what they said and its a done deal as far as they are concerned. We dont have to like it or agree but us discussing the livin ♥♥♥♥ out of it wont change it or anything in the future.
Well, yeah, it's a PR statement. My point is that it doesn't seem to actually say anything new? Pretty sure everything on that list was stuff we've already been told in previous statements. I think just the stuff about backend changes supposedly helping modders is new.
This has nothing to do with the direction of the game - it just states the obvious - old outdated models etc. will be updated - there will be an engine update etc.
I never cared about graphics in this game - i care way more about building etc. - while the game looks better i think it was way more interresting with natural caves etc.
The only thing that actually says something on the direciton of the game is the part with water survival - but how does that make sense when they reduce complexity of clothing with the same update and add magical set-bonus-items and the most akward sets iv ever seen? Nothign says "back to the roots survival" like a "nerd-outfit" with magic set bonus stats ...
What a weird thread ...
Why do you think its your personal calling to defend this game no matter what?
He is doing the community a great service and always has as long as ive been involved with this game and forums.
Check his posts, he singlehandly done more 4 this community than any other user, hands down !
Jost. make my check payable to " cash " please.
The "direction" of the game is not about the detailed features that you have written on your personal notebook. It's about the commitment by TFP to complete the game and to also take into consideration what the players have to say.
The "direction" of the game, is to know they're doing some changes to the networking and services used by the game to support a future console release (after Gold).
The "direction" of the game, is about them willing to further extend support for the modding community.
Some people have been repeating that the devs don't know what they're doing. The same people have been saying the game has no direction because of that. Well, here's the answer. Of course the same people will argue that they're just liars covering their tracks... and you're entitled to think so if you wish. Still that doesn't change that TFP have declared publicly to their audience that the game is going (minus a few bumps and setbacks) in the direction they want it to go.
If you can't understand that, I don't know what to say, but at least try not to make this about me for reporting these news, because YES, they're news, and there may be fellow players who could be interested.
Also, I really don't care about what you care about.
I just reported what TFP said, get over yourself, the world does not revolve around you.
Sadly, most people think when someone of authority in a given situation tosses the word salad that says absolutely nothing, that it's profound clarification given from on high.
MUCH more is coming in A21 about that BTW.
To be honest - the modded-RWGs were way better years ago. I seriously do wonder if actually paying such a modder wouldnt have been way more efficient - they could still have adapted those systems later on - or are those modders using open source stuff that cant be used comercially?
Read: There are a ton of mistakes coming in A21 and future updates will ruin the game.
JOST - stop beating around the bush and using quotation marks to pretend you're being "polite." Say what you mean.
I read that and thought of "Don't worry, be happy." and other meaningless platitudes.
