Game needs a UI update

Aesthetics are subjective, OP said nothing about the UI being worse or better than other games, so no comparison is needed.

And I forgot to add something. Just my opinion now, and I do get to have one BooMz, as you never miss an opportunity to jump in and on someone else`s post about what this game lacks. And you use mods. Take the huge back pack mod. I would like that but I am pure vanilla player. Do I jump in and call mod users cheaters? Not no, but hell no, not a chance. TFP should not allow mods as I think that`s cheating? Not a chance, nnbhn again. C`mon man get a grip. At least be original. You lurk and when someone posts something like this OP just did, their "opinion" of something they think the game lacks, or something they don`t like about the game, a fair post, their game, their opinion, boom it opens that little door and you pop in on their post and cheese a snide remark about how TFP are just bad devs and the game sucks in so many ways, they never listen to the players, ad naseum. Damn son, do ye play, or do ye lurk the forums? lol play more and try to have more fun son. just sayin

Lol, most of them are probably failed devs who come here to trash the game because they feel the need to take away something from the HUGE success this game is.

I've just been laughed at in one of my threads for posting additional information I just acquired about the Dew Collector crafting... can you believe it?

Those people seriously need to get laid!

As for the topic: fortunately, TFP built the game to support UI modding too. So just pick your poison and you'll be ok. ;-]

Yeah, the UI is pretty bad. Functionally and aesthetically. I just started playing Undead Legacy, which, amongst other things, completely overhauls the UI. It's pretty similar, but looks a lot better and has much-needed features like sharing inventory storage with crafting stations so you don't have to pull materials manually, and being able to lock inventory cells so that the things in those cells don't get moved by sorting and dumping loot. It makes it pretty clear that the UI could be miles better than it currently is.

Apparently, criticism=trash talking. Some people can't fathom the fact that people can criticize a game and still like and support it.

I found the UI from Undead Legacy mod to be the best out there and Devs should take note.

The UI is pretty outdated and somehow never got updated since alpha 16.4 (when I first started playing). There are mods though to improve it luckily like the link above.

I guess I more or less like the look of the UI although some things are unintuitive like the forge and the missing functionality like what Midas described is pretty bad. I came to really appreciate the stock UI after playing War of the Walkers and having to mod the modded UI just to be able to see anything.

no. Would it be nice if they upgraded it a bit? Yeah. Do I really care about the UI right now with all the other stuff they need to fix? Not at all, it works well enough and it doesn't cause me any grief.

I never said people can't criticize the game. I was talking about some players laughing at my efforts to bring news here on the forums. They can say whatever they want about TFP or the game, but I won't stand here getting insulted and ridiculed just because I posted some news.

Fortunately there's other people who appreciate being kept up to date, but if some people don't like me posting stuff they can just keep to themselves or discuss the negatives of what they see. Posting "LOL... SMH" or similar, is not constructive (or even) criticism.

P.S.: on a side note... I don't understand why people who I added to my ignore list keep replying at me. Steam should add a warning for those users so that they know they're wasting their time IMO.

At least the UI is functional even if it could be better. I think that coding a better UI can wait because there are many other things (crappy spawns, performance issues, game mechanics being continually dumbed down and over simplified) that desperately need more work.

Shared inventory with nearby crafting stations is a feature a lot of games could benefit from. I'd be happy if they eventually added that to the vanilla game.

You don't always elicit the best responses from people, JOST, due to the way you chosoe to word some of your posts. My guess is that it wasn't simply for bringing news to the forums but based on some of the spicier comments you've made.

Re: your p.s. - We can reply to whomever we want. Steam should not have a warning for anyone replying to a user that blocked them. You blocked us, not the other way around, and you have to click something to even see what we've said. It's on you to stop looking, not on us to stop talking. If it's that big of an issue for you maybe you need to stop participating in the forum discussions.
