the sub machine gun (SMG) turret isn't an sub machine gun?

SMG - an automatic carbine designed to fire handgun cartridges.

Fairly sure it meets the requirements.

This is not a complaint and purely observation.

It's sound and fire rate are more similar to the pistol, imo.

It fires faster than the pistol, but I guess I could agree, it does seem to fire a little slow for an SMG. As for sound, it's firing 9mm pistol rounds so it will sound like a 9mm pistol, just more rapid.

the thing is with the turrets is that they aim for and hit the head and dont miss often if at all.. this makes them deal high damage and crits killing zombies very fast with minimal ammo and imo the smg turrets range is very far for such accuracy. and this all adds up to what you was saying, the smg turret doesnt much seem like an smg purely because it doesnt need to rapid fire a mag in a few seconds. honestly i think the turrets for smg is op long range single fire high damage headshots with small amounts of ammo use per zombie kill could probably be altered abit even if it was just less accuracy or shorter range.

oh dont worry im not saying they "should" be nerfed. i mean honestly they could be balanced abit but im not worried if they dont.. imo i think their great

I have seen my turrets take off arms and legs, my turrets seldom hit the head. Further I have watched my turrets empty 150 rounds at 1 target before taking it down, I think the difficulty setting has a lot to do with this.

As far as range, it's lower range now than it was 3 or 4 updates ago, and that is lower than a real SMG. The closer a target is to the gun, the more accurate the gun is going to be and the more damage it will deal, so I think the turrets are fine the way they are.

i havent played for a good while. but that said my experience with them is that the range was very long and deadly accurate headshots, able to kill zombies almost before i see them come running out of the dark. this like you say maywell of changed i really dont know. if they did change though i guess it was because they were so op back then. i have been waiting for alpha 21 didnt really see much in 20 that peaked my interest in playing, though i do love the game it is by far my highest hours game on steam, i dont even care its still in alpha... after all good things come to those who wait eh.
