It was pretty visible what they are doing since first EGS updates tbh :)
to my knowledge, they already got the rights to the game back, but have current and next gen ports / development on the back burner until the PC version is completed.

Game was not sold as EA on consoles - they bought finished product.
No way that TFP will do a free update.
So I'm gonna ask ya to respect people on this topic. Otherwise don't comment, since this is called being good to your consumers. It's bad to have terrible rep even if it wasn't their choice to release it as full. However; they got it back and are wanting to makeup for it. Plus more sales obviously, they even mentioned it to do something for console as to not be known towards consoles as bad company or whatever. Let alone they have said they will do stuff for console after game is actually finished. They don't wanna be known as BSing either and probably at the tipping point from all of this. Wanna be done with it do other things or add more fun things to this game and so forth.
If they do this not only would they get great rep back, but also better respect from those platforms. It would be in their favor to do something. If they didn't get it back for console rights then none of this would exist. Because it would be done and over with but not gain them any respect back let alone as is due to how long it is taking to finish the game. As I know many probably even others on PC are fed up with the length it is to finish the game. Especially how close the finish line is we have heard from it being done finally.
It is not easy to do any of this sure nor is to do stuff for the console but understand, their's other platforms, you need to let people be and say stuff, no one is disrespecting you or PC peps on here, respect console peps to otherwise get outta here.
and yes before others attempt to attack me I am warning this person. As this is partly disrespectful towards those that like console to or prefer it. Let's just agree we like the game and hope it gets finished to see what happens okay? Don't do this stupid compare versions thing or platforms. Talk about the game and nice progress that could help them and make awesome other games to or add actual DLC for this heck if I knew their future plans. Just not take as long as this one did. Or craziness.

There is no way that console version will be updated - deal with it.
Then I wouldn't be a consumer, and I to have every right. Just like you claim to. But I am the one who started this discussion. Not to argue about which platform is better or see what is common sense. As common sense would put it, if gonna be consumer friendly then gotta do what ya gotta do. That includes updating the game on console. I will tell you the same, if you don't like the game either and want it to update faster or whatever then I could tell you straight up the same. Don't buy it early access, it's been well over many years since it's release. As early access is risky and could never be done.
I mean come on buddy, and it may or may not be updated or replaced on console. I said that before, it's in the right direction though to do so. If and when it does I would prove my point. If not then you proved so, but again. As a consumer, I have the right to complain, to tell them off in a respectful manner, to even post on here about the console version. Just like others do on pc if they are tired of it being early access, it crashing badly, recently about a food balance? including how buggy. I can keep going to but I can also compare it to other versions and being more updated and more stuff then console as well. I paid for it, I am the consumer, just like other companies have been doing stupid stuff and the consumers like you or me have the right to tell them "Hey, thats a bad idea! I won't buy your stuff and watch your money be wasted and stocks fall haha!". Course indie peps don't have stocks but the point is there. Money wasted and future games/products won'ts be bought. Causing them to fall flat.

oh bonus words: You are being kinda disrespectful by trying to tell me I am selfish, assuming they owe me or others because I think they should update/replace the other game on console and at most do a nice better then 50% discount for buying it full. At most I said, they wanna try even to give those that did it for free or also at most a good discount. I wasn't saying they should owe me but would be nice if they did least a good discount, I'd buy it again if good discount on console. I don't care. It's on gamepass I might not have to but would for automatic discount anyways. We done here yet? I'll call it good if you do till maybe mods lock this then I'll do another and ask peps to only talk about the game not compare it to other platforms. Since PC is best, yes but I just like console to. I can enjoy both.

It's pure logic and common sense. I sincerely doubt TFP gives a free update to console users.
It'll be marked as a next gen update and you will likely buy it again. They might offer some kind of discount but I'm pressing 'x' to doubt.
You nor the other people fully know. TFP even said they won't know yet, till the agreement with the publisher or maybe microsoft in this case might come to terms and do free or greatly discounted. Some games have done this before, where you own something and different version or new and get it free if you bought it.
It's kinda rare but it has happen before. Same for PC games included, so it is neither 100% nor common sense. It depends on situations, deals, agreements, and more.
If TFP says it will be discounted like 100% then we all would know and probably deal with it, but they again as I said. DO NOT KNOW YET. Unless ya got a link or words by them that says otherwise then we would like to see it. Till then like the odds are rising because of the deal with microsoft, not saying it's 100% I need to really repeat this apparently. theirs a chance.
But they won't deal with that situation I believe just yet till they finish the game on PC. Alright? Might've already had a deal with that to microsoft but won't announce it till way later. Many doubt the game would ever finish but here we are as well. PC is close and answers will reveal themselves down the line for a 100% for it all.
I'm not sure how easy it is to show ownership or potentially spoof it though.
Does the GamePass thingy just work as-is on Xbox for the current Steam/PC version of the game?
AKA, can Xbox folks just start it up and play without any goofy hacks?
I think I read the muliplayer needs hacks to get it working crossplatform with Gamepass, and I'm not sure if that also happens for Xb-to-Xb gamepass Multiplayer.
