SUGGESTION: Allow these mods on the stun baton. Why not?
Metal Spikes. You'd think they would help allow the conduction of electricity if they pierced the target.

Barbed Wire. Again, it's metal, so wrapping a stun baton in it would channel the shock better.

Metal Chain. Same thing with this. I don't see how adding weight and heft to an electrified baton would be a bad thing, especially if it's done with metal.

I don't disagree, but the way they have those mods set up is for clubs, and the Stun Baton is, well, a baton. Sadly there are only two weapons in this weapon group, and they have specific mods for it. And, despite the batons being low tier weapons, the mods are a lot rarer than others from what I have seen. Hopefully in the future batons get higher tier weapons and mods.

In all cases, The shock would not be channeled any better by the addition. In fact, the addition of metal wrapped around/protruding from the baton in various places would more than likely just short the circuitry and make the shock value worthless, Or potentially even cause it to back fire on you from loose wire/chain dangling around potentially contacting you.

You want the zombie to be the one breaking that circuit and getting shocked- Not the metal chain you haphazardly wrapped around the baton.

For the Metal Spikes specifically, it would channel the shock for sure- And keep the shock from doing what you want it to do. Electricity tends to follow the path of least resistance. That would be from the circuit of the baton...straight to the iron spikes you put in, largely causing superficial surface damage instead of the electricity coursing through nerves and muscles and stunning the zombie. Just like how a taser works by inserting two prongs into a target and having the electricity pass prong to prong through the person.

So spikes stabbing into a person wouldn't conduct electricity in a way that would allow for the tazer to be effective? Also, you just described something that basically is spikes stabbing into someone to conduct the electricity. Wouldn't it be possible to arrange the spikes along the baton in pairs to have a similar effect?

As for the chain or barbed wire mod concept. No one is going to use a club or baton with barbed wire or chains 'haphazardly wrapped' around them. At best, as you mentioned, the user could injure themselves. Or worse, the addition would just fall off the weapon entirely, making addition be lost, pulling the weapon from your grasp due to the sudden shift in weight, or making it impossible to hold as the wire shifted over the grip.

I'm pretty sure the chains and wire you see on the clubs is well secured and is supposed to have been carefully thought out as an addition. I just feel like the same could be done with the baton, adding weight or sharp edges, without it being a detriment.

You can add the weighted head mod to a baton (which I've always pictured as a shaped lump of metal attached to the weapon, so I feel other attachments should be possible.

The stun baton is the only weapon that has the stun affect and can also can get the repulsor mod.

Unless I am wrong, a weapon cannot have more than one effect at a time between knockdown, bleed, fire, and stun. I am pretty sure that is intentional by the devs.
