I think 7 days needs to have its own free weekend or free “7 day” trail

Why stop with one game ... why not all ... the answer is

To avoid becoming an access only paid subscription system ... just like xbox subscriptions

Increase administration and bandwidth has to be paid for by someone ... these users wanting to downloading free trials without obligation are a blight on any server network when you have an obligation to those that have made purchases

i got the game here on steam years ago, but i think the idea itself (from a naming point of view) could be pretty cool - since you only get 7 days :)

Pirating is easy enough as it is, they don't need to facilitate it even more for you if you want it for free. Just buy it like any products.

pretty much this^.

maybe, MAYBE, i d be okey with a 20 min demo of the game. just to see how it eventually plays out on your pc lag wise etc. but nothing more.

and yes, thats the point. it prevents from the system getting abused and its good the way it is right now.
if you cant afford it in the first place, you wont be able to afford it after 7 days. your suggestion just invites people who want to leech off "free game trials". noone needs such people.
