what are your preferred world settings?
Title says it all.

I prefer warrior, I think higher makes the zombies a little too spongie and lower makes them too easy to kill. I usually use normal xp rate, normal zombie block damage, I double the horde night zombies, and I usually set the zombies to jog during the day as walking is just too easy to get around in my opinion.

I keep day length set to normal but I usually turn on 3x block damage for the player because I hate having to sit there for 10 minutes wailing on a safe. Is it cheating? Meh, probably but I don't care.

I also like to edit the progression file to give that starter quest a few more skill points on completion. I always play alone so I just like having a bit more of a skill point jump start.

Shame on you Jan 2, 2022 @ 12:19pm
16K map (King Gen on A19, no idea if allready in A20 Available)

Insane but with buffed playerdamage (mod)
No loot respawn
Loot abindance depends on the single game

Different ways to skip Stone age and make the RPG a Survival game
64 x Insane level always run zombies
Random horde nights 1-4
Horde nights warning off
Loot respawn off
Airdrop marking off
Permi-death
Other than that.... vanilla.

Just finished a day 3 horde.... there as like a dozen zombies and i went back home at 11pm. lol

Unfortunately, 7d2d is not a survival game. It's a tower defense out of the box. In order to experience the survival aspect, you will need mods. The four I present to you will enhance and change the way zombies feel in 7d2d. There are other mods I use, but these 4 are essential when it comes to zombies. Nomad, zombie speed should be Jog or run. Anything less, increase zombie speed. I used Head Shots Only mod for a while. Unfortunately, bullets flying through heads with no damage is a game issue that needs to be looked at. I removed the mod and increased the difficulty. At around game stage 120 the zombies become harder to kill but extremely fun and challenging.

  • JackTeller's Increase Zombies x 2
  • More Wandering Horde
  • Improved Hordes
  • Harsher Death Penalties
  • Map 8k to 10k
  • Difficulty Survivalist
  • 24 Hour cycle 90 Minutes
  • Daylight Length 18
  • Blood Moon Frequency Disabled
  • Zombie Day Speed Walk
  • Zombie Night Speed Walk
  • Zombie Feral Speed Walk [Jog for experienced players]
  • Zombie Feral Sense All
  • XP Multiplier 150% [200% if you have time, 300% if life is too busy]
  • Player Block Damage 200% [Time is a factor 300%]
  • AI Block Damage 25%
  • Loot Abundance 150% [200% if time is a factor]
  • Loot Respawn Time Disabled [Long term play 30 days]
  • Air Drops Everyday [Air Drops are not worth it unless modded]

Note: 7d2d is far from release but Beta ready for early access. The lack of electricity, resources and armor; you'll find the survival aspect is fun. I've included some other mods to try with these settings.

  • Crafting Tier 6 [Will scale with perks]
  • Crafting queue
  • Increased Mod Slots [For higher difficulty settings]
  • Zombie Reach [Essential to fix what is still considered a bug]
  • Always open trader [Makes you venture out at night]
  • Zombie Fall Damage [Helps with higher levels]
  • ReQuest [For long term play]

I hope you all enjoy. I wish the game had sliders for Zombie AI and added weather effects with sliders to adjust difficulty and balance game. I disabled Blood Moon because I think it's stupid. You'll realize playing with these settings and mods that wandering hordes will attack your base daily like a blood moon but not as severe. It will allow you to play an actual Zombie Survival without building weird style of traps and mazes to kill hordes like an arcade feel. This is more geared for the survivalist. Adjust to your play style.

Experienced players
[Difficulty Insane] - [Head Shot Only Mod]

Enjoy!

Warrior difficulty
Zombie day speed: walk
Zombie night speed: run
Zombie feral speed: run
Zombie blood moon speed: sprint
Exp gain: 125%
Zombie damage: 75%
Loot abundance: 50%
Loot respawn: none respawn.

A bonus challenge I added myself was that I won’t use traders for their quests (buying, selling is ok). I want to go for the feel that resources are limited, since technically the trader quests can provide infinite resources

I recommend 2 hr days. Fuller day to explore around, deadlier nights, Long, intense blood moons.

insane, 64 count BM, jog during the day, sprint everywhere else, except ferals, ferals are nightmare speed, feral sense on. 100% loot, no respawn, 100% exp, no airdrops, default blocks, 30 block land claim. BM days change on my mood, mostly once a week, sometimes, every night, sometimes random.
