Length of your ingame day
Guys, what time do you usually choose for a day cycle. By default its 60 min. So if you play with 7 days horde as this game is ,,implemented,, to, you need to play 7 hours of real time. I know there are no rules and every player can play as he wish. But maybe there is some usual play style, that fits to gameplay the most?

I usually stick with defaults except for zombie speed (jog or run) during day, Warrior difficulty and now Feral Sense on for Day & Night.

Later as I play, I will increase horde night frequency and set all zombies to either Sprint or Nightmare to keep things challenging.

I do normal day cycle, Normal horde cycle, and loot and XP on max as i dont enjoy the grind.

It's bad enough needing schematics for everything and finding the same book 8x instead of a new one. So that's my main reason for Loot 200%

XP on 300% as some "perks" aren't really perks and should just be a given. Again i have no interest in grindning for 15+ hours to just use steel.

I set 24 hours in game as 40 minutes, and make it so basically 30 minutes of day vs 10 minutes of night. I felt like 1 hour was too long for the whole day cycle for me.

Me and my brother installed the 16 xp settings mod on our server, so you dont just "learn" by clicking, you need to use the use over time skill, this in itself makes the game harder. Other than that warrior/feral on/running always on, living in wastelands..basically just 1 step below the hardest you can make the game, loot on regular.

1 hour days are nice and steady for my group. Im not a fan of being in a constant rush day in and out as the sense of time per day being rushed would eventually wear. Its healthy to have a good balance of 24 hour cycles and honestly 7days flies when you've got a crew and work to do.

So similar to the old system

Default is pretty good.

I also set it to horde every night, on my solo worlds.

60mins. I used to do 30mins for a challenge sometimes before you could change the frequency of the bloodmoon.

And i still don´t understand why there is no 70, 80, 100 an 110 minute days. But we have the option for 10min, as if anyone wouild actually do that regulary.

I like a 2 hr day cycle. The day is fuller, and the nights are long, including the BM. An hour long BM on insane at high GS is intense.

This... I love 120 days for looting and building and long, long nights for mining and the new Restore Power missions. Those long, nasty, crazy Blood Moons are the best for both XP and fun, though I do tend to be very tired by the end of it.... so much lootage.

I am different in a few other ways, though, and keep my xp gain fairly low, but bump my perk number to 2 per level via the xml file and always have my Player Block Damage at 300%. It better fits my personal preferences and I have more fun with less boredom and agonizing blech that way. I still level fast enough but my GameStage stays manageable. Yes, I'm a weenie and totally hate playing at stupid-bullet-sponge-zombie difficulties above warrior, though running zombies are just fine. Nightmare speed on Horde night means they get to me faster, the waves are more intense and I have more fun.

When I want to be more zen and focus on exploration, building: 120 minutes, with blood moons off.

If I want a little faster daily, 90 minutes. Blood moons still off. I only turn those on these days if I'm testing something.

I also do loot respawn off, which in A20 seems to = no sleeper respawns. Which is sometimes nice but also sometimes kinda annoying depending on my mood. But I don't like respawning loot.

Once A20 will be old a month or two I will start a new game with 120 minutes cycle, feral sense on, loot at 25% and have Zombies jog all day and be a nightmare at night. Maybe even reducing XP to 50%. Just to play a prolonged chill'd game.

I leave it on 60 mins but I often find it's too short of daytime because I like to do one high tier mission per day. Travel time plus thoroughness of looting every single lootable object at the mission site takes some time so that it's hard to get back to trader before they close to turn in and get a new mission for the next day. The having to rush though adds a certain challenge for me. I turn off zombie running for all times, increase block damage for me and reduce it for the zombies. I turn on marking the air drops on the map. I increase blood moon horde to 64 and the rest I leave alone.

Is the respawn delay affected by day lenght?
