Getting 80-110FPS on a lesser rig. Sounds like you need to tweak your junk.
This helped me A LOT. Thanxs.
I was actually having 60 fps stables and above.. like 80 sometimes. When I turned that off I got 130 fps and 100 fps inside builduings.
I got a I5 10400F
16gb RAm
512NVME Samsung pro
Gtx 10603gb
And my settings in the game are:

Latest updates now default Land Claim Only on yes for dynamic mesh. This should help you get better performance, unless you want dynamic mesh to apply anywhere else as well. + You can reduce the distance to 500 if you want, I personally didnt saw visual differences.
I've had stutters forever now. As a try, I decided to do all your settings. It worked! I've never gotten over 60fps. Now I can get up too 107! And I'm never dropping below 77fps.
Thanks again!
Popped my gfx to High and there was very little difference in stuttering - which is odd. Almost never stuttered on me in A19. I know a 1660 6gb Super is not exactly a top-of-the-line gfx card these days but it's not junk either (or is it?).
I dunno, I'll try Tin's setting jut for the heck of it. Got another 32gb of ram coming (split between me and the missus). At this point if it doesn't work I'll just shelve 7DTD, plenty of other games on sale anyway. I run other FPS games with higher settings, no issues.
Running an i7-4790k, r9 390 vid card, 16gb ram with game on a sata ssd and basically same settings as shown above. Lowest I ever see is around 80fps, if it ever drops below that it's not noticeable enough to make me glance at the fps counter. I do get minor hitches when I know I'm spawning in a lot of mobs, like when rolling up to a large POI and it spawns in the sleepers as I enter a new chunk, or a slight pause when looting or opening inventory. Of course it would be nice if that didn't happen, but it hardly affects the experience.
Just to inject a little context for expectations though, this is NOT comparable to an fps, totally different games. May as well compare it to a physical pinball machine. This is more like minecraft with built in texture and shader packs you can't uninstall, and a massive engine overhaul as well.
Tin's settings didn't help me at all, though I appreciate his suggestion. Actually I notice the biggest problem is when there are zombies around. Tested it with screamers, calling in more and more zombies. As few as 5 or 6 got me stuttering, 25+ and it was a slideshow. In any case, thanks for your feedback, at least I know it's not just me. Curious what performance mod you have though..
True enough on the context expectations/comparison. I think I made the statement assuming some might compare it, or at least to give some background that my rig only runs like a potato on 7DTD-A20, lol. Frame drops on chunk-spawning and looting, I understand, I'd get that in A19 a bit, especially when they brought in the first HD models & jiggly animations later on. It's just that it happens no matter what I do now, even with Ton's settings (noted above).
Over 4k hours in throughout the various Alphas, I don't mind playing with the settings, I just haven't found any that work in the slightest. Oh well, hopefully they do an optimization patch when they come back from the Holidays.
