Don’t quote me on this, but I’m pretty sure telltale games owns that version, and they published it as a complete product. So the devs can’t actually update the console version.

you're missing the end of the story because Telltales went bankrupt and ceased to exist. Then TFP had to go through the hassle of buying his own stuff back at an auction.
From this you should understand why they won't bother with this for now.

my opinion would be to stop buying Consoles, which are basically computers except you can't use them to their full potential, can't upgrade them, pay twice the price for game, and allow "exclusivities" to exist. Please stop feeding this joke of a system

Oh they are not completely useless, think about all the people who can't work out how to turn on a pc, and those who find the workings of a keyboard a nightmare.
And some actually enjoy paying for a system that is obsolete by the time it hits the market.
