Better zombie spawning?
Well, the point is almost every two minutes some zeds knock at the door of your base disturbing your doing.
This is not a sort of challenge, only a very boring hassle!

I appreciated the mega-horde event instead.

So the dev should redone the actual "attack the player base every 2 minutes with a couple of pathetic and worthless zombies" automatic routine with "attack the player base every N hours random with a mega-horde that provide some fun at least"

My 5 cents.
I love the game and the last patch but, seriously, they should fix this things and the server browser more than adding a f***ing drone while we can't find a bottle of acid and decent firearms after several days inside the game.

do you have feral sense turned on?

i have my loot skill maxed around day 11 or 12. i've found a level 6 M-16, 2 level 6 crossbows, 2 level 6 machetes, and a level 6 sledge hammer with a few level 6 pipe weapons. at most i've found 2 bottles of acid. while i do agree on the acid aspect, i have found more wheels than usual. and i'm currently on day 16

What changes with feral sense on/off?
We are over days 30 and still struggle to defend ourselves with melee and pipe weapons during blood moons.
We can't build the chem station without the acid and we cannot find it anywhere.

With horror we noticed some zombies seems to attack our structures when we are away/distant breaching walls and penetrating inside the base. I supposed they were hungry for brains, no for our stocks!

We are palying on a random generated map anyway.

I should add that zombies attack your base even there is no activity inside (no player activities, no working forges and fires etc...)

Zombie spawning has changed to depend on where you are.

If you are in the middle of a large city, then zombies will spawn more often. If you are far away out in an empty field, then very few zombies will spawn (one spawn per several days).

Plus biome is a large factor. Wasteland especially has the highest spawning rate, by far.

Overall this is a good change in A20. This IS actually better zombie spawning. You can choose to build in a remote location in a easy biome if you want.

i think feral sense is when one zombie notices you, all zombies in the surrounding area notice you

Indeed we are now on the limit of a big city in the desert biome. But before we built our first base over a mountain with nothing around for miles and we got swarmed by packs of wolves and zombies since the first days of the game!

I like it hard but there is a problem with the loot at least. And the annoying continuous attacks should be mitigated, even in the cities. It is simply not fun and don't add anything to the challenge level.

Regarding acid, you can even find it now in trashbags in the new alpha 20 experimental patch, so if you are struggling to find acid it might be worth hopping onto the latest experimental build, since they have increased the chance to find acid.

Meaty (non-undead) animals have different spawn rates than zombies. So that may be why you saw a lot of wolves. Not sure why you saw lots of zombies.

I can tell you with 100% certainty, I built in the snow biome (second hardest after wasteland ) in an empty field, and after clearing the area the first time I see maybe 3 zombies once per several day. Literally several days. Maybe, there is a modifier for multiplayer I am not aware of (but I really don't think so.) Or maybe you have a bug. Without actual nformation more specific than "it was a lot of zombies", I can only let you know what I know as hard facts about the game mechanics.

As an additional note - I have been spending most of my time in the snow biome just outside of large cities. And I consider it rather quiet to the point of boring. I feel like built electric base defenses for (literally) nothing.

I am working on a new "more zombies spawn" mod for A20, because in my opinion A20 badly needs it.

It's hard to say if this perceived difference is because of our individual expectations on difficulty, or whether one or the other of us is seeing anomalous spawning.

We liked the action just... now if you build near a city you have no peace.
I think they should fix several things.

Thank you for the information, Potato.

Hmm that´s is interesting. I have build on a strip of forest biome that reaches really close to a snow city and I get bombarded with zombies all day every day even though I´m technically still in the forest area but the snow city is only like 70 m from my base. There are no 10 minutes without a group of zombies making their way over to me and they all come from the city.

I only have one of each workstation and I even had a screamer showing up when only the forge was running and even though I kill most of the incoming zeds with the crossbow or my trusty steel club so I shouldn´t generate too much heat but idk.

I play on standard settings btw just with feral sense activated.

Being attacked by huge hordes every now and then is fine and fun.
Being attached by a screamer every minute is not fun at all. I can't manage a structure well if every 60 secs I have to stop doing what I was doing only to kill a damn always the same zombie!

I'm playing on survivalist, with feral sense sat to 'all". I have never seen a screamer from forge activity and I have 4 generators running 24/7 because I don't have solar yet. (I see screamers when I mine metal though.) This large variance in observations is weird.

I made no judgement call on your situation. I told you what i know about the game mechanics, and my observations in my game. I honestly meant my posts to be informative and helpful. I swear to the gods both good and evil that I did not mean to offend you. I will forever stop giving you accurate truthful information if you request it. (I may still post to correct incorrect information for other forum users though)

That makes it even more weird. I also have feral sense to all btw.
When I remember the big snow base next to a snow city I made with my friend on my dedicated server we had screamers CONSTANTLY like at least every 20 minutes and we only had just one forge as well which oc was running 24/7 and the difficulty setting was also standard difficulty. Oh and we didn´t have a generator there either.

I also wonder why this is so inconsistent.

Edit: Probably it is like that because I like to use candles as lightsource. In my current base I have 10 candles and in the before mentioned big snow base I even had more so I think that must be the reason.
