Very complex construction (solved)

Hey survivors... I found the new construction system very complex, with many blocks confusing the head and that I think no one will use... I think they should rework the system... There are a lot of unnecessary blocks that you actually doesn't even know where to use as the "Wedge" type. I'm using the simple block filter to be able to play.

The original idea had a much higher priority of base building I think. The additional blocks along with the paint textures is very much welcomed by many players but sure not all.

I for one welcome the new additions as I used to find it annoying that options were limited in A19. I often would end up redesigning what I thought was a good idea because the limited blocks ruined the look.

I do agree it can be overwhelming and maybe a setting pre launch could be added to simplify the blocks to aid newer players that can be toggled once you get your head round the mechanics.

Yeah, why does it matter then if you do not use them? Those are the blocks the devs used to make all the POIs around you. It's ok if you do not need / use them. I do use them though.

if you don't want to use them, then don't. but why try to ruin the fun for the rest of us simply because you don't like something?

Basically this. For a very long time the builders have asked for a lot of the available shapes to be removed from the creative menu and made available to normal players.
The biggest restriction to this was a limitation in how block shapes and recipes functioned. In a20 this issue was resolved with the new shape system, and it also unlocked the ability to have a much larger variety of block shapes than the game had previously.

If you don't like to see all of the shapes, turn on the simpler view, or limit it to looking at shapes you have favorited.

I don't think I would be wrong in saying that an extremely large majority of players is extremely thankful for the new system.

Those blocks were added by popular demand. There's a lot of people who like to build complex/fancy structures in 7D2D, I'm one of them. Plus having so many shapes in wooden frame form now is a great way to plan out structures without having to smash blocks if you don't like what you placed.

My only gripe with the new blocks is not being able to mark them as favorites. And I'm sure that will get addressed, as I've seen it mentioned by others.
