Night Vision Goggles = Thermal Vision Goggles

I was just noticing that the Night Vision Goggles don't actually work the way real NVG do. They work more like Thermal vision does.

Is this intended, or maybe just an oversight?

I'm afraid that's how it really works, But i remember it works just like real NVG in a14.7 back then. Still, never want to use it because even it works like nvg, it doesn't help much like mining helmet do.

Like MGS3 Vision, but It's not Thermal vision though, unless the zombies are cold blooded

I bet This is what the eyes of a screamer is like, torches and light sources are bright af. But can't see the humans as clearly

Night Vision doesn't detect heat. If you look at a light source with NV on it causes the vision to white-out and can hurt your eyes.

Thermal shows you heat...which is what the in-game NV Goggles are doing.

Considering Zombies are dead it makes sense that they don't really show up on NV I guess. I would think that the Burning Man Zombie, and ALL of the Radioactive Z's would however show up.

Did you even read the post? Night Vision Goggles do not display heat...only Thermal does that.

Probably best not to get too deep into it. Like Light poles and Neon signs still work, yet I don't see any electricity poles or wires leading to them. Like Out door lights for houses, steet lights etc. There are cities with Powerstations though, so it's still very much possible.

According to real pictures, NVG are more or less accurate. We can suppose they didn't choose thermal type for 1.rarity of this kind of google in real world and 2.heavier to program (perhaps they'll implement it in the futur).

What you consider heat is just light increased, but for gameplay purpose, I guess they prefered blue and yellow instead of a classic green and a white too strong (nobody wants a white flash while playing after all).

The night vision in game is not showing heat. It's showing light sources or light reflections

The fact that it happens to be brighter when looking at heat sources (like torches and campfires) is because... NEWS FLASH: those are also light sources~!

And just as a side note, there are different colors of night vision, not all of them are shades of green. Look up AI sentinel color night vision

The night vision in game is showing you brightness levels from light sources

If it were thermal showing heat, you would have a much broader rainbow of colors to show temperature spots
