yes

No. They can climb up one block, however they cannot go over a horizontal space. If that space is not deep though they will just go into the gap and start to tunnel.

I understand what you say but the other user said yes.
I'm in the middle of a build and need to know because the rebar frame ramp is letting only one block space between blocks.
Thanks.

The other user is incorrect and probably assumed you meant upward.

When they are running I have seen them get across a 1 block span. Dogs too. Now 1 block span and 1 block up , no.

he means that they run "so Fast" they can clear a block without jumping, or at least that is what i interpreted

They are not supposed to be able to do that though. I haven't ever seen it in over 1600hrs played myself for that matter. BY design no they cannot. If it has happened to others, it's a bug/glitch.

it can happen and it will happen at night especially with the superfast ones. and no not all zombies have the same speed atleast last time i checked.

best thing do do is start a test game with cheats enabled and try it. make a small scale mock up of your design and spawn in a bunch of ferals.

If it's a base thing, make it a two-block gap. You can jump two-block gaps, but nothing else can.

I did it just in case :p

Zombies can not make running jumps.

Players can make sprinting jumps of up 5 block gaps.
(assuming no leg breaks or sprains)

Fast running ferals can sometimes cross a one block gap because of their speed and hitboxes allow this. (not sure if this by design or a glitch)

Since zeds can't make running jumps you could make the ledge on your secure side 1/2 a block higher than the unsecure side and ferals will bump into it and fall into your put o' death.

Your best is to widen the gap by two or more to be safe.
(you can add 1/2 and 1/4 block to you ledges to widen them by less than whole blocks)

Actually, I use two blocks cause they have jumped one block before. Yes, they can jump too. How else would they able to get up some areas.
