Not that Sand, Ore, Stone or wood would be scarce
I've heard that the resources don't respawn so even though I just started, I'm concerned about endgame having no more mats. Tho trader has some so mabye I'll just buy their stock.
And for cars there are 2 ways
* Reset a region
* Use a respawn mod
https://7daystodiemods.com/car-respawner/
And it's generally not possible to run out of resources.
/8 player = 120 000 000
with a modded auger (and i mean modlet modded) you can break 3 Blocks per second
40 000 000 Seconds
666 666 Minutes
11 111 Hours
And if these people p̶l̶a̶y̶ work 8 hours per day thats 1.388 Days
Dig 100 meter (x2 Blocks) with each tool.
Then compare the time and yield
This is why I prefer the stone axe to all others. (except the Auger) I know that it isn't the fastest, but it uses so little stamina and the fact that repair is almost instant with nothing more than a small stone.
Anything else, other than the auger, and I'm like you....running out of stamina and having to wait. But I never slow down with the stone axe.
Stone tools is suposed to decrease the amount of resources you gather while steel tools are suposed to increase yield, with iron tools being the default value. That is over a full resource node of course.
At least it was that way last time I checked in alpha 17~
I'm one of those people that likes to hoard equipment in case I never need it, and often run with plenty of gear just in case.
I run single player/ with friends so I'm not hoarding from other players like that.
The biggest advantage of the stone axe isn't its efficiency though; it's the fact that it serves multiple tool functions with a single item. It's an axe, a pick, a shovel, a club and a hammer all in one, though obviously less effective than any of the above. This keeps your hotbar free for first aid, multiple weapons, building blocks or whatever you need at the time. It's versatile, but if you can't take full advantage of all its functions, then better tools are worth it.
