The gameplay is rather more complex though, but it is definitely one of my all time favourite games, and I haven't found another survival game to beat it.
A horde of zombies will come after you every X days, a setting you can set yourself. (Default is 7, hence the name of the game) Unlike normal slow zombies who just wander around and must detect you first, these zombies will know where you are instantly and will sprint at you Left 4 Dead style. The game is about exploring, doing quests, looting resources and weapons etc. in order to prepare and make the best of your time to prepare for those nights.
Each type of block has a weight and a limit of what it can support when building out from the side of it. Nothing will just float in the air and things that don't have enough support will fall.
If something is built up from the ground and that ground below it is solid it's fine no matter how high it goes, but you need to keep an eye on things and go slow when building out from that.
Also while there are no enemies that will run off with your building blocks, all of them can damage your blocks. Walls will hold them off, but not forever.
I'll spoiler-hide my previous post.
I will never forget my first experience... dying from the zombiedogs who chased me down... i wont forget the scare moments that I was cutting trees and got punched in the back from a zombie which I never heard coming...
But...I found it was really getting me after a week...when I went to work...and which is just 2 kilometers... but I saw sticks everywhere... I saw rocks which I wanted to smash... and I saw goldenrod flowers in a distance which I needed for my tea... I just then realized I had to work in a few minutes which sucks cause I wanted to play more....
4000 hours almost... it still gets me... and if I ever get bored of the base game, i change difficulties, try a great mod like Ravenhears, Undead Legacy, Darkness Falls and start all over...
Gotta go...some fat cop is on it's way to take me down...
