What do you all have your blood moon count on?
starting a new map what do you initially set your blood moon count on and do you adjust as the game progresses?

i always have the maximum 64. kinda the whole point of the game is to be overrun with zombies on blood moon.

Usually the setting won't matter much for the first night or two unless you're leveling really fast or playing with friends...at lower levels in singleplayer the first couple hordes will naturally be pretty small even if you set the number high.

I try to limit the horde-night count to 32 or less (divided by number of players...so 16zeds for 2players, 10zeds for 3players, 8 for 4players...etc.)
This is because higher counts than ~30zeds at once tend to hit the CPU or I/O or something really hard and makes the performance fall below 60-80fps no matter what hardware you're running on.

Currently 12 per player, was on 8 and that was getting too easy so hopefully my PC can handle the extra load on the BM.

4 with jogging speed and 25% block damage, playing solo :bummer:

I have mine off, but xml changes I have game on survivalist and more wandering hordes in my solo play as the lonely survivor. I keep blood moons in my multiplayer games with friends. I wish there was another playing mode where there's more wander hordes of various types and more curious screamers around.... but I understand it's a tower defense game with zombies .... or is it.

24 (start at 8-12), nightmare, 75% block damage, horde every 5 days + 2 range (I like the randomness and I try to start off with vanilla-ish settings to practice for MP), shorter days and I decrease both as the game goes on... also playing solo, kind of just practicing for multiplayer. :MaidMakaiCoffee: It will probably end with permanent night, daily hordes, and anything else i can do to make it a nightmare until I die.

I wish I could do 64 but I barely get enough FPS for 24 to be playable... :bbtcat:

My Settings:
Random Gen
Insane
Always Nightmare
64 Zombie Horde Nights
Air Drops Disabled
Loot Respawn Disabled
Claim Decay: none
Claim Duration: 30
PermaDeath
I play until I die or hit day 100.

All other settings are default.

These difficulty settings are played from the start. (Not adjusted over time.)

Alphas 17.4 and 18.4 are far more difficult than 19.4 if you want the highest difficulty.

I hope alpha 20 gets a new difficulty setting to get back to the old alpha 17/18 difficulty.

8 per player on Warrior difficulty with 3 to 5 players in game. One player is a 2000 hour+ 7DTD veteran. Three of our players are FPS gamers while the other two prefer the building aspect. It is a fair balance for all players involved.

It’s cool to see the vast differences in game settings

32 but I play Dawn of the Dead with Walk on everything but BM.. where they jog... I am not a 28 days later fan of the Zombie sprint.

I also mod double the number of Zs normally and play on warrior... AND Dead is Dead... so I play rouge like and start over with each death... its brutal

What is PermaDeath considered?

i stay with 64 on survivalist difficulty. nightmare just makes them too much of bullet sponges imo.

1 life, death = exit world, delete world, restart.

i always play unmodded version on insane difficulty, nightmare speed for all at all times, 64x blood moon. you outscale the enemies super hard in this game when you start getting the weapons and armor that you want, along with your skills, and i dont enjoy permadeath or crippling loot and XP in the settings, so i go with this to keep the game hard.
