Darned blade traps :P

Are these things supposed to be placed at ground level only? I am trying to place this on my raised ramp above ground. It actually worked for a brief while, but now does not act on, or get acted on, by anything, even when i am standing on it. And it draws power for doing nothing too!

Might want to rename blade traps to "politicians" lol.

These break so fast though at ground level, are they really worth using, unless you have some convoluted method of getting to them to repair them every minute?

Any reason why they cannot be used above ground level?

Unless it's been changed, I used to be able to mount them on walls or upside down on ceilings for head level chunky salsa action. Hold down the R key to see if theres any advanced placement options.

You don't need the "R" key for that, because they can only go one way up they will just place onto any surface be it floors, walls or ceilings so long as there's enough room to fit them.
I don't believe that's changed (and hope it doesn't).

I do agree they seem to last longer if not on the ground and are instead smacking the zombies in the head.

This is a floor level placement in line with the ramp floor. As son as the zombies top the ramp, the first thing they should run into is the trap, but the blades are not interacting with them, or taking any damage in return. As the ramp is away from the main bldg, I got no where else to place them :O

Build a pillar next to the ramp and place the blade trap so they will pass under and through the area it effects (as shown when first placing it)?
Those blades can hit more than it looks like they can when placed vertically.

So, alongside the ramp path and vertically so it hits their heads?

Pretty much. When placing them the box around the item seems to be a good way to tell if it will hit a zombie in the place you put it.
Typically any part of it that is three block above whatever you are placing it over (ground, ramp, walkway, etc) will smack a zombie in the dead as they go under.

Now if only we had a way to set blade traps on fire like we can with the robotic sledge.....
Like a big bladed catherine wheel.

Speaking of mods: Also, hell my truck has room for slots, but I cant find a single thing that fits. What do you use on yours?

Vehicules mods haven't been implemented in the game yet. They are working on it, though.

As above there isn't anything in the game to put in them yet, with one exception. Namely, you can put dyes into vehicles the same way you can with armor and weapons.

Still works here. (deadliest, but expansive in terms of repairs)

That holds promise! Just have to find a way to stop spiders leaping over on to the support blocks. I am trying to utilize my 9mm turrets, but omfg they have like 200m range and getting the right angle to be just a roof sweeper has been tough. 900rds is gone just like that :P

When I want a roof sweeper turret, I'll bring up the walls a little extra just to prevent the turret from seeing beyond the roof. Works well, assuming you've got plenty of stable wall support.

Wtf? You guys sure these things are supposed to live off the ground? Half a screamer horde was enough to turn one of these traps into scrap lol :P Or is this because it was on wet cement? Horde hit just as i connected it.

Trap animates, but still no damage is done to zombies or to the trap.
