Also I keep having to remind people that this is a survival game. Mechanics like this are expected.
There is never a time when you have nothing you can do when you have an injury. Do you need to be more careful while injured? Sure. But there's still plenty to do.
I'd be more worried about how you're approaching the game that you get broken arms frequently enough that you think they should be removed from the game, personally....Are you wearing armor in every slot you can? Armor adds critical resistance which reduces the chances of injuries in general, including broken arms and legs. Also, Avoid getting hit in the first place- The first hit in every encounter is a freebie and CANNOT give you injuries (Or isn't supposed to, anyway), only dealing HP damage- Every hit after that has a chance to injure you. So the best course of action is to avoid ever getting hit more than once in a given fight.
Having immersive survival elements in a Survival game... that's just silly ... KAPPA
To treat injuries and negative effects, one has to be prepare or bare with it until you get back to base and go to your well stacked Medical Crate. Sewing Kits, Pain Killers, Splints, healing Bandages etc. This isn't DayZ with pylon zombies and tireless running...
dm
then enter, then either F1 or ESC to close the F1 menu.
Then press q to enable GodMode which will erase all status debuffs / ailments after a couple seconds. Then press q again to turn it off, press F1 and type dm then enter again to turn that off...close the F1 menu. Done.
You can also probably disable broken arms in the XML files (or use a mod for the same thing like already mentioned).
Most of the time, if you are creative there are lootable components in the nearby pov that you can get to craft a splint. its not like it takes alot.
all the above fixes like godmode and adding mods to reduce or eliminate injuries are true but in truth do you want to play a survival game or a breezy casual gamer game like candy crush. Better i say is to learn the game by living, dying, and hobbling for a bit because you will figure out eventually how to avoid the latter two.
lets not talk about dayz worst flashbacks we can all have with that game xD.
mod if there is one at least that at least helps u remove it or decrease something to at least 1-5min because this all happened during 7th night aka horde day which i got a broken arm from a dog and for my self def ofc i went all panic started bashing everything with club( yeah happens ) till i notice (broken icon) tough he broke my leg standard but it was arm so yea i went used Plaster cast and all, and here we are with 20min couldnt do anything cuz melee life (no gun) hell i didnt even know they added broken arm in the system anyway mange to live a day and (yes i had armor leather actuly was lucky that i found that (1 reason why i am still alive)) welp thanks for responding quick guys and all ill try my best again maybe next 7th day ill surprise my friendly dogs with ak47(thank u military camp)
Or just leap off your base if you're not running permadeath. Experience you can get back. Time you can't.
It makes the game hard and quite niche, but also delightfully enjoyable if you're into that kind of stuff.
Basically - the game hates you, and wants you to hate yourself, but if you're up for a challenge - it is actually quite an enjoyable experience of immersion and breathtaking gameplay, where you learn, make decisions, and enjoy results of successful gamble/right actions taken in the right time.
Unless you're abusing the AI like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I'll have to pay more attention to that between looting, killing, and building.
Game ruining aspects:
- Grinding through resource gathering
- Grinding through hunting for secret stashes
- Grinding through selling stuff to the trader
- Grinding through doing jobs for the trader
- Abusing AI in fights
- Abusing AI on horde night
- Dying too much
The game is kinda balanced, and introduces a nice, steep slope into unbeatable, glowing hordes of zombies, unless you do things I've described above, but there are some aspects that snowball the progress into a "I cannot die anymore" stage.
Looting secret stashes on high level might introduce "super weapon" that might be enough to become unstoppable, that is also tradable, and you can easily pile up some coins to buy anything you want.
For example, I think that jobs should remove secret stashes from the building. Quality of the loot should "replace" other items by value, instead of just having a random chance to have everything you might ever want.
I also think that perks, that introduce insta-kill chances should be removed/redone.
Insta-killing a super-irradiated zombie with a single headshot is a fun taker.
