GF not getting quests?

I havnt played this game in like a year or so, so I apologize if i forgot something. I make a world to play with my girlfriend, and upon loading in, I get the usual quests such as making a bed etc. However my GF whos never played this game before joined my world, but she has no quests. She showed me her quest log but there are none.. anyone know why?

shes also not spawning with any of the starter items like food/water/torch etc

i would suggest your gf verify her game files and if that fixes nothing then a clean reinstall might be in order.
