Underground Bunker Garage
I am sorry for lack of links and screen shots for this post ahead of time. Has anyone seen YouTuber JaWoodle's underground garage base build? If you have, read on. If not, maybe check it out. I have successfully built an underground garage in the same manner as what is seen in the video. The problem is, even though part of the title of the video claims, "zombie proof," I did not find that to be the case. I am not discrediting the video as false by any means, but what i did find out during a 200 gamestage horde, is that it is in fact, not "zombie proof.' The zombies do not trigger the garage to open it, rather the beat down on top of it and break it. So its my understanding that, either I am doing something wrong, or the current alpha is different from the one JaWoodle uses in his video. The graage itself works flawlessly as far as getting the 4X4 in and out. Maybe I just need to do some pathing control. Either way, I would like some feedback from the community if anyone has tried this and what they may have done or done differently. Thanks everyone in advance.

The zombs will choose the easiest path to you. the only way you could make it zombie proof is to have a weaker spot with active defense.

I will add this. I have a open entrance down into a hall where they come to their final resting place. I kill them from behind 1 hard metal door and 1 row of iron bars. They have used this path 100% of the time until I completed the underground garage. If they use the garage to get to me, they must beat through the garage door (14000 points), go through 3 fully upgraded 3X2 doors, and then down a ladder to get to me. I will also note that the did beat through the garage door, but instead of going through the 3X2 doors, they beat down 3 reinforced concrete walls. That is 2 blocks per wall. If they would have gone the normal way, its 1 layer of iron bars worth 2500 point per bar. So, I thought I was doing this with "pathing" in mind. Maybe someone can tell me how to take screen shots or record video so I can better explain, although I would rather not have to. I am not computer literate, so uploading links is not exactly two clicks of the mouse for me. I currently have my garage section covered with 1/8 reinforced concrete plates, hoping this will detour them back to their original route until I can get this issue settled. Again, I can't thank the steam community enough. You guys are all awesome.

He talks about it being zombie proof against screamers and wandering hordes, not bloodmoon hordes. It's meant to be part of a bigger base that draws the horde elsewhere.

Most of JaWoodle's stuff doesn't hold up long-term from what I've seen.

Indeed he relies on "Cheesing" rather than actaully fighting

To OP I recormend Reach gaming instead - less cheese more genuine designs

Most of his base builds are in A18 or before. Pathing change slightly / dramatically for A19.

Also note the cheese loop bases are now redundant due to the sledge turret. =D

I am not sure what cheese loop is, or Reach gaming. Is reach gaming a separate YouTuber? But in all honesty I did have a sneaking suspicion about it being A18 or earlier. Thanks everyone, although still hoping for a solution because the garage itself is pretty bad ass. Eventually, I'll post a few pics or a quick flick of my base.

That's because Woodle is a clickbaiter. None of his stuff is actually long term viable without manipulating the AI.

Most of JaWoodle's stuff just breaks pathing AI. Fun.

Has anyone seen the video I am referring to? Ya'll gotta admit that it is a pretty sleek idea. I have replicated it to, in my opinion, a better version. Not do credit or discredit JaWoodle's video, in my personal base, pathing was never the issue until the garage build. As I said before, I don't really see how the addition of the garage really messes this up because I kept pathing in mind. Straight up, the easiest way to get to me before and after the installation of the garage would be through the kill zone hall way I had been using since the first blood moon. The next time I am on I will try to take screen shots to at least show the situation and issues involved. Again, thanks for the advice and comments.
