Vehicles and Gas?
So i've been constantly struggling with having enough gas to travel my entire playthrough and now that i'm in the truck it takes 10% of the gas tank every 500 meters. What the actual ♥♥♥♥ lol. I get scrapping cars and checking gas stations but the looted gas is horrible. Maybe 100 or 200 per vehicle and like 50 or 100 per gas pump. Driving the truck for 30 seconds takes 1000 gas. How are you suppose to use the vehicles in this game?

Have you put points into lucky looter? Personally, I usually get 400 or so gas from salvaging a vehicle. And, if you hold 'Shift' key when travelling... you will burn up more fuel quicker. Recommend not doing that with the higher tier vehicles. Bicycle and mini-bike are reasonable consumption rates with the sprint key held.

Gas was made scarce when cheesy players adopted the strategy of "outriding" horde night on vehicles. So, The Fun Pimps made gas more scarce, and made it so EVERY vulture attacks vehicles (with a speed boost) on sight. IE: Subtle "suuggestion" - Don't ride out the horde. Hard handed but the main idea of the game is to FIGHT the horde every 7 days, NOT flee from it.

I never thought about running from them, I use to always fight them back when zombies dropped loot because it was stupidly profitable to fight them. I guess it makes sense now.

A few bad apples ruined it for everyone else. That's what happens with "popular" cheese strategies. The Fun Pimps patch out whatever cheese the players find. (IE: Steep ramps used to be unbeatable - the zombies couldnt walk up them, The Fun Pimps saw the builds people were making and said "Hey, we can fix that." Now they can walk up them.)

If anything im more tempted to run from hordes now than before. Now that only like 1 in 100 zombies drop loot it's worse to fight them than just run. Especially with how slow reloading is

Once you can get the schematic you can craft loads from shale. Until then, the best sources are the oil barrels you find around yards and construction sites. Unless you are playing with friends who want to ride with you, using the motorbike for solo travel is way better on fuel and manoeuvrability.

Honestly though avoiding a horde is super easy, just go to one of the many pre-generated buildings and sit on the 3rd or 4th floor. It's what I do now that there's 0 profit in fighting hordes. Why would people waste gas to run from them...

Gas used to be a lot more abundant. Also, 0 profit fighting? Experience points, skill points, the occasional loot bag.

They give Experience with leads to skill points yes... But fast moving, hard hitting, bullet sponge, giant hordes of zombies/vultures/dogs/and cats... Not as reliable for Experience as quests and the zombies spawned by quests. Why risk dying to a horde of 100 zombies for a single level when you can do 2 maybe 3 quests that can be completed in 1 in game day and get a level. In an effort to keep people from running from hordes they made me (someone who use to kill as many zombies as possible during hordes) someone who AFKs in an attic in a random gen house to avoid them. Risk usually means reward but the reward comes from questing, making the Risk pointless.

Add on the fact the loot stash at the end of every house respawns from taking a quest the dropped loot is also obsolete from zombies now.
