Keyboard Backlight thing?
Anyone who has a backlit keyboard, can you give some context as to why the game is hijacking the backlight? When I sit in the main menu, half of my keyboard is just dark and when I get into the game, QWERTYUIOP turns all green and f1 onwards turns a greeny yellow colour which slowly creeps out to the right. I have no idea why the game is doing this, or what it is even supposed to represent, but I also cant see any way to disable it and it's getting on my nerves

You should be able to disable game integration in whatever software you're using for your keyboard lighting.

I can't speak to disabling it. But from the description, the bar over the F keys is likely a representation of your Experience bar; While the greener one across QWERTY is likely your Current Health.

Must be a SteelSeries RGB keyboard. Support for those was added into the game. This is covered in the patch notes.

It is a steel series RGB, you're right. I also learned that QWERTY is indeed my health bar, but f1-f12 is actually the time of day, each key lighting up slowly over 2 in game hours

That's kinda neat.

Yup, dude complains about it and everyone wants it. Lol.

Played Terraria the other day and the keyboard RGB integration is sick.

That's where I first encountered it, and while interesting, I found it annoying, and made it harder to focus on the game, so I turned it off.

the keyboard lighting is an interesting idea but since all this info is already on the screen, I fail to see the point of it. maybe if it showed different stuff like hunger and thirst that you have to open and click through a menu for, it'd be easier to look down at the kb.....
I'm not a fan of steelseries. I had a keyboard I really liked, the merc, they bought the company that made them and came out with their own, this was in the XP days. they abandoned support for win7, the keyboard would still kinda work but the dedicated game keys got screwed up and wouldn't work right for all games. win10 had zero support and wouldn't work at all.
bought a mouse from them a couple years ago and the scroll wheel stopped working correctly within a year.

Hmmm food and water IS displayed on screen at all time too... It's called health and stamina.

kind of. I like having the number like in the character sheet. usually I leave it on that page so I just have to hit B to check it real quick.

Isn't food and health level the exact same? So if you are missing 10 max health then you are missing 10 food + the 50 overeat?

something like that. I just like having the numbers, I usually take care of it before I lose the health or stamina.

I'm pretty sure the green and blue bar under the toolbar is your food and water bars. And consuming food also gives you a tick down of health slowly being added to your healthbar on the left.
