1. Go to game installation folder ...steam/steamapps/common/7 days to die/data/config) and back up gamestages.xml.
2. Download https://files.fm/f/mwxxekwux (it is my modified 19.5 gamestages file for the game to be more challenging)
3. Place the downloaded file to game installation folder ...steam/steamapps/common/7 days to die/data/config)
4. Continue your world (you don't have to restart your world).
5. ♥♥♥♥ yourself during bloodmoon ;-)
as 7dtd is a long play, the first bloodmoon are really easy. the difficulty and number of spawn depend of your gamestage only and not the number of day/blood (if you set blood everyday, they will still easy until high gamestage). So your first one at dat 4, I presume you were level 4-5 (gamestage 7-8) so only 1x15 zombie max, and no fat one, only commun.
You start to get a 2 wave after gs 10 and 3 wave after gs 20.
The first really challenging zombie (cop) appear at gs 45+ and the big one (demo) at 95+.
to increase early blood difficulty, first is to up your difficulty level as zombie will made more damage to you and block. Warrior is the minimum as at this level zombie had no damage malus (and you got no damage bonus too) (you can up the movespeed runing blood too). second, give you some xp, by console command or set upper xp in game prefs. third, set the ai block damage during blood moon to 200 or 300% in game pref. and if your blood is too short and you finish before 4am, all players disconnect from your server and the blood will restart when you reconnect...
if you know about xml, you can edit the file gamestages.xml and only change the value of the difficultybonus to higher value (this will make you have a greater gamestage)
try this but keep in mind that 7dtd is a longplay and you will see no difficulty at early game (I play insane with blood everynight and 100 first gamestage still easy
I disabled these zombies on my server with friends.. they are nothing more than bullet sponges that even after you take them down tend to sometimes explode.. I don't mind hundreds of zombies but these are so cheap they make the game "in my opinion" very miserable and not fun. I don't enjoy repairing 2/3 of my base after 1 or 2 of them make their way to the front lines.
Making it random horde nights and turning horde warnings off is a fun way to keep you on your toes... thunder and lighting after 6 pm is enough of a warning so long as your prepped.
Turn off loot respawning.... and air drop markings off to add more realism.
Other difficulties can be stepped up to your preference...
eg : zombies run during daytime is fairly easy once you got your zombie bashing basics sorted.
And 64 x insane level zombies is the only way I play now. ;)
4 years later? haha
Update on how it went or what I tweaked?
