Wolfes too tanky?
Yo, imma lvl 30 or smtin like that, playing on survival, specialize in agility stuff like knifes n light armor (max agi, fully upgraded perks, and max quality items) + some more tanky stuff from book perks.

I can oneshot most zombies (feral included) with one or two power attacks to head even without sneak bonus. If anything else fails, max quality shotgun to face ussually resolve my problem. All my weapons have hunter mod = +100% dmg to living being.

But wolfes.... why are they so damn tanky? Imma lookin on map midday in middle of forest, and suddenly imma attacked. Theres nothing to jump on nearby, and nerdpole doesnt work since wolfes destroy blocks faster then i can build&upgrade them... So i shot mf with fully upgraded shotgun to face, switch to knife, 6 power attacks to face.... and he still lives. Imma obviously dead by that time, so i keep watching, if he dies from 7 stacks of bleeding for like 10 seconds until respawn menu apperas. He didnt died even then.

My point is... imma perfectly fine with wolfes being fast, stealthy and having very big damage, but is really necesary for them to be such bullet sponges? I can understand zombies being tanky, since they are undead n stuff, but wolfes are living fcking animals. Shotgun with hunter mod to the face should kill them.

These predatory animals should rly get nerfed their hp (maybe except bear, since... well, its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bear). Theres just too much big difference in tankyness of zombies vs animals and tt just doesnt feel logical....

Maybe you ran into dire wolf? regular wolves aren't much harder to kill than dogs.

The normal wolf's hp is only very slightly higher than zombies. something like 200 compared to 150.

probably a dire wolf, them things are tanky bois.
normal wolves shouldn't be an issue at even level 1.

I only play insane level... and would like to say YES!

but they not invincible.... attacking from a raised position.... and head shot head shot head shot... would be the best key.

Although you meet one head to head in the open.... your dog meat.... on toast.

You might have a slim chance to run away from them if you can kite them into terrain... buildings.... trees rocks.

I believe the main problem is their hit boxes are too small. So, you think you're hitting them but missing more often than you'd think. And, yes, the Dire Wolf is a freakin beast. I've been in that same situation too many times. I keep my eyes peeled for them demon's. I've actually been killed more often by a Dire wolf than any other creature in the game.......till I started being super wary of them. I even hear a growl and I assume 'Dire Wolf' and run for cover or something to get on top of so I can take time to aim and head shot them puppies.

the dogs/wolfs also have interesting ai where they circle and flank in attacks usually. the dires tankiness adds to their difficulties. best to identify what you are dealing with when engaging. your agility pistols are great smg for spray and .50 for heavy hitter.

Yea i had multiple dire wolves spawning at night outside my base from days 2-8.. on my latest play through, it took over 40 arrows and some melee. Once you're leveled and have rank 3-4 in head shots for whatever weapon your using they become pretty weak.

It took my iron door down and it was like the Benny Hill show inside my base. Luckily i killed the bastard with like 20 health.

But i enjoyed it and kinda miss that they cant do it anymore tbh.
