Yeah but playing super mario 64 in 1440p with dynamic shadows, bloom and photo realistic textures in a procedually-generated world with destructable terrain would be fully sick!
Truth. :)
What do I see? Entitlement with no appreciation what so ever. even after you stated you played the game 'extensively'. Are you playing for graphics or are you playing for the enjoyment of the game's mechanics and properties that make it fun and unique? From what I see, you're putting graphics quantity ahead of game quality.
You got to play the game for free on your boyfriend's account, didn't spend a dime on it and you come here to basically shame the game and the company for not doing what you expect, fast enough. That's pretty petty and unfair.
Kayleigh, if you were good, fam, why did you come here and complain about the appearance of the game in the first place? it surely doesn't look like it was to share a fair opinion or view of the game. It's bias on every level. Was it your aim to shame The Fun Pimps and get people on board with you to shame the company and their work? If so, that's not very nice. I could understand if this company had blatantly ripped people off, led and cheated their way to success, but that is simply not the case. The Fun Pimps have done none of that.
The art style of the game isn't intended to be like the art styles of other games. You shouldn't condemn someone else's art style just because it doesn't appeal to you. There are lots of people out there that like the look of this game. The appearance of the game graphically has also changed monumentally over the past five years alone. From alpha 16 to alpha 19 even, the changes have been substantial. Perhaps you should look through the history of the game to see what it used to look like in contrast to what it looks like now, to grasp how much has actually changed, graphically.
As far as the game being clunky goes, sure it's got its burps, clunks and bumps, but the reality is they're not things that are game destroyers. I mean it's still in alpha and it runs like a pretty decent beta game. What more could you possibly ask for or want?
If a bit of clunky game behaviour and graphics aren't fitting your taste that's fine. Having an opinion is fine. However, coming to a message board saying what you have without any credible examples to back your statements isn't gonna earn you much community respect.
It's true, Valheim uses more of a limited voxel system to shape and level terrain I think.
And to Kayleigh, The Fun Pimps could gone the Unreal Engine and make the game like ARK but added the Voxel plugin to manipulate terrain and have graphic fidelity and a little bit of "fake" mining and terrain changing... but we wouldn't be able to blow up and destroy stuff and buildings. So there's a give and take here. :/
You should take your own advice :3
You kidding? Valheim is one of my favorite new games and it looks like ♥♥♥♥.
That's a fair response, though I did buy the game on my own account after.
Says a lot about you that you only see makeup and not substance.
