Why is rotting flesh REQUIRED to do basic farming?
I just realized that gardening tools are no longer part of this game. Instead you have to use rotting flesh to craft a farm plot?

Why does this sound so ridiculous to me?

Why do you guys keep bringing up fertilizer? It was never necessary. You could just till the dirt and plant whatever you wanted. You never needed a cement mixer to have a farm. It helped, but was not necessary.

Apologists will literally do or say anything they can to derail a thread.
All jokes aside I don't know why everyone is arguing for. Rotting flesh to craft a farm plot is ridiculous . The OP ain't wrong on that mates. lol I seen someone had mentioned they gardened on this thread. I been there and done that too and last I checked I used both tools and fertilizer when I did it. lol Poo fertilizer made more sense. Tools to garden and farm with made more sense.

Let's ask ourselves something shall we? Who in their right mind would use rotting zombie flesh to garden with let alone plant anything at all with? lol There was a reason people didn't eat it or use it for anything in shows like The Walking Dead mates. lol I'm just saying. lol:steamhappy:

Actually you've already been eating rotten flesh all along. Where do you think Shamway got the ingredients from for their yummy stuff... :reusgreed::bummer:

Darkness Falls overhaul mod has all that and more! :popular:
Glad it´s gone. It was a nightmare to handle. The hitboxes were awful. I hope it never comes back.
I mean Native Americans used to put dead fish under their corn so it would not deplete the nutrients in the soil. Otherwise you are looking at crop rotation or stunted growth. I don't want to see either of those in the game.
realism and gaming definitely dont go hand in hand...

think about it for a moment..
carrying 100 units of dirt 1 50lb bag at a time....
dont even get into inventory space in your backpack big enough to tote around how many vehicles?
A tool you use once per game. It was not needed then. It is still not needed now.

The old system was tedious. You had to replant each plant after harvesting. The new method is vastly better.

That still requires tedious repetitive tasks to do something that previously was more straight forward and fun.

Wait, tedious and repetitive? You mean like having to replant every single plant after harvesting crops (in other words, every day, not just one time) - you know, how the old system worked? Lol. xD

Now you just harvest, and...that's it. Calling the new system tedious and the old system straightforward and fun is a trollish joke right? No one in their right mind would say having to replant every day was less tedious. That's silly and objectively false. Lol.

Honest question - Did you even play the old system? It really doesn't sound like it. Or maybe you are just badly confused about what was in what version. Because honestly you don't sound like you know what you are talking about. Like, at all. :)

Could I just say that this person may or may not be an alternative account of the author? Level 0, private page, seems a bit sus to me.

Besides this, I'm fine with how the farming system is. It isn't that hard to go out into the Wastelands and farm up on Zombie Bears, Zombie Dogs, and Zombie Vultures; not to mention Nitrate is stupidly easy to obtain along with clay and wood. The only items that are a tad bit difficult to find are one of the following items if not all of the following:
  • Corn/Corn Seeds
  • Blueberries/Blueberry Seeds
  • Potato/Potato Seeds
Flower farming is as easy as completing the tutorial quests, if not easier since flowers are just about everywhere you look, but the main point is farm plots are nothing to squabble over. Who the hell cares if the hoe was removed, who cares if fertilizer was removed, what should be cared about is what is planned for the future of this game; also a tiny bit of love. Even though A20 is a ways away, I'm excited in awaiting the new systems for pipe weapons, new loot system, and better RWG.

I believe this sums it up entirely: Hoes were a one time use item, that after using, would never need to be used again; so why the hell even have it? Same goes for the Blunderbuss in this game: a one time use item that quickly gets replaced by a far superior option such as a Double Barrel Shotgun, a Pistol, or even a Crossbow.

Not only that! Since to craft a Hoe you had to use Iron ingots, farming was basically gated behind the Forge! And at that time you didn't have skills and you first needed to be lucky enough to find the dreaded "Forge Ahead" book lol :reterrified::popular:
