Alternatively, do trader quests for Dukes and just buy one. I got a lvl 400ish AK47 on day 2 with this method on my current playthrough.
Where i can switch gamestage?
The player score screen will display your gamestage number. For me, it's bound to the "I" key, but I've changed mt keybindings. Not 100% sure if that's the default.
Or, if you can find/loot gun parts and have a workbench plus the skill or blueprint, you can craft them.
This is the first step in the process; There unfortunately was only ONE early game firearm, The Blunderbuss, And so that's all you'll find. The next step in the process is to add a bunch of other early-game fire arms like pipe rifles and pipe shotguns for the player to find, to round out the early game loot tables. But this step is coming in A20 i believe, and is not here yet.
And of coruse, as the others said, You can grind up your gamestage through gaining levels, Or visit the trader regularly to pick up low tier guns.
(Off topic but - other than perhaps the first hour of day 1, there honestly shouldn't be any posts complaining about dogs and wolves in this game. The tools to instantly send multiple of them to doggy heaven are all over the place.)
