any way to highlight damaged blocks?
Title says it all. Sometimes it is very difficult to see when a block is damaged, especially if it is painted.

Yah, sometimes those damage models on some textures just aren't obvious, even on the unpainted ones. So, I do have a method that I use a lot when doing maintenance / repair of a base after horde nights. It's not as easy as just having blocks magically highlight to show they are damaged (that would be a cool overlay, by the way), but it does work...

Put a repairing tool in your hand (like a hammer or nailgun), then aim at a block. If a health bar shows up, it's got damage and is not 100%. You have a pretty decent range, so you can check a fairly wide swath of blocks around you just by swinging your aim around. I generally get set up, and just walk parallel to what I want to check and keep my aim centered, that way I'm just moving down a line of blocks and watching for the health bar to pop up to let me know where the damage is.

That's the best approach I've found, unfortunately. It's definitely a very manual inspection operation. But, I also tend to incorporate it directly into my repairing routine too - make sure I have the materials on me, and then when I see the damage indicated on a block I'm inspecting I just right click and pop it back to 100% health.

Thanks! That is pretty much what I do right now too, just wish damage was a bit more obvious.

Yes, it would be pretty cool to have a "damage status" view similar to the one you can get to in debugging showing structural integrity. I can imagine a view where blocks are shaded, green for good, fading to yellow and then red as damage amount increases. It should be a temporary view, to avoid stressing the system more than it already is, but it would be a nice "hold this key to view damage" kind of feature. Maybe even tied to a perk, ability level, or equipment (like goggles or something).

Yeah, I've had the exact same concern, and used the same method CoinSpin mentioned as the best solution I can come up with. Beyond that I just try not to worry about every single block and try not to rely on very large areas to protect myself. Even in a large building, I'll only use small areas at a time and ensure those are well-maintained.

This sounds like a feature that would be nice. Perhaps suggesting it in this thread ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/251570/discussions/0/3040479910538283841/ ) would be appropriate.

One good way to see the damage better is to paint the wall a diffrent color like a bright white. I don't know if this comment comes a bit late but I was googling if someone had a better way and I found this site.

As the others say, the problem comes worse when you upgrade to steel blocks, they are hard to see which ones have damage, and a good solution is painting all of them.
They should allow the nail gun to toggle some sort of effect for damaged blocks.

It could even be something like you can change the range you see damaged blocks (5m, 10m ,15m etc) and toggle what types of materials (all, wood, rock, metal, steel). Could be tied to quality of nailgun as well.
