All i want for Xmas is a simple Teleport mod
You know, just the ability to /sethome and do /home to teleport back to it. Sounds simple, but the internwebs left me confused. "download a server manager" they say, but cannot find one that relates to A19.

Playing co-op with one friend.

IIRC:
If have admin privileges in the game just enter "God Mode" open the map and CTRL+Click anywhere and you'll be teleported there.

Edit: you can use this page[7daystodie.gamepedia.com] as a reference.

No ned to even be in god mode- Just enable debug mode with the 'dm' command, and you can TP with a ctrl click(might be ctrl right click) But, still doesn't really help OP since OP doesn't care for that method.

every online server i've been on has /sethome and the /home command. No online servers use debug and clicking on a map to teleport. I dont' wanna do that, just port to my base like i've been doing online since alpha 1 !

Perhaps if you asked in the modding subforum you might even get your wish.

Why are people want always to do things fast? When I play a game I want to immerse myself in my character. There are some game that do have teleport but it's part of the game lore.

Set up a dedi, add a server manager, and voila, now you have /home.

I severely doubt a feature like this will ever be a part of the Vanilla game. It completely goes against the nature of the game.

Being able to /home and /sethome should be a vanilla function of the game, something you can choose to turn on or off when you set up your server, just like choosing difficulty or zombie run speed.

Some people may feel it goes against the nature of the game, but there are plenty who do not - why deny a simple addition to people who want to play that way? That's akin to making all servers PvP, and saying "It's the apocalypse, of course everyone wants to kill each other! Anything else would go against the nature of the end of the world".

Even Minecraft doesn't have /home and /sethome as vanilla functions of the game- There are reasons abound for why, and we could argue it till we're blue in the face about if it should or shouldn't be a vanilla feature.

But, simply put, The minecraft devs didn't want it because <Insert reasons of choice here>, And so it remains the case in minecraft that it is not a vanilla feature.

And the same is true here. TFP don't want home and sethome commands because they feel it defeats important aspects of the game- There's no risk to getting injured for example, because you can just /home and reach your medical stockpile instantly. There's no risk of running out of food or water and starving or dehydrating to death, because you can just /home to your base if you get close.

And so, It will likely never be a vanilla feature. It defeats too much of the game all on it's own for it to be vanilla; And there's no way to balance around it. If you want it, Mod it in/use a third party server tool.

Every single online server since A1 has /home, that's a fact unless it's that Ravenscroft of something. 4km out from your base with a broken leg and few other minor aliments takes like 40 mins to get home, that's not immersion that's takin the Pi** Can anyone recommend a Server Manager that has /home function ?
War3zuk Dec 11, 2020 @ 4:37am
Never use it, would never mod it into the game as it ruins the whole point
