Giant, acid spitting super vultures?!
Really??? Arent normal vultures enough annyoing? Do they really need to spit acid during horde night? What happened to the cops or have they evolved into helicops? I know this sound like another mehhhhh thread, but sorry this needed to be saied!!
I like the idea of "new" enemies, but please dont make an annyoing enemy even more annyoing. The cops are super cool, i dont even mind the acid blow, but these giant vultures are a bit to much. I dont event mind the normal vulture to attack during horde night, it keeps you from getting to bored. But these guys are bit toooooo much, so i hope you think about something else to replace them. Hell i would rather have an argentavies or pteradon instead of these spitters,

Or you build a roof? And place a turret on your new roof? I mean... Everything is hard if you don't know how to deal with it.

They aren't exactly new. The spitting vultures have been in for about 2 years (since A17 experimental).

I have 2 turrets on my roof, but the vultures start attacking me from far away. I didnt even see them in the first place, looked for the "normal" cops on the ground. And i really dont want to open another mehhhh threa, its just that i have the feeling the devs improve only the really annyoing zombs. I even dont dislike the idea of a stronger version of the vultures, but please without this stupid range attack.

You can build a shield to protect you from them. Vultures only attacks you from far away if they are seeing you directly, otherwise they will attack what's covering you. You can build a hover shield that protects you from up and front, while looking down to deal with any other zombie. Like an L upside down, I think you got the idea.

Hmmmm yeah thats sound really good. Thanks for the tip D.A.R.K. i will try it for the next hord night, actually im swimming in concret, literally ;). So it would not a prob to built this.

Cops still exist, vultures just show up at a lower game stage and are much, much lower hp. The fat tourist is being changed to be a special zombie in A20 to spit some type of poisonous gas. Dunno if they plan on having him able to explode like a cop or not. They just vaguelly touched on it last live stream.

It's fun in the wasteland an night. Kill one, and another respawns right away. I was crossing the biome at night once and had 5 on me by the time I got to the other side. (no vehicle, just running)
Took a few down along the way, but that just attracted more.

Would be a neat idea to have cops bloat up with gas and float into the air to then explode and rain down acid over a large area. :buzzed:

If I remember right, they were made to punish people who just get on a vehicle and run away on horde night, pretty much defeating the point. Not gonna argue whether or not that's a legitimate strategy or a good way of punishing it if it isn't, just saying that's what I heard.

No they existed before that. Changing their movement speed to 240% was to prevent the running away on vehicles.

The AOE part is what's ridiculous. They hit blocks you can't even get to in order to repair them. This pretty much means anything you put on a wall will get destroyed, as if we don't have enough building limitations with electricity already. "Build your walls 2 blocks thick"...eventually there will be only one base that everyone builds if this continues as there will be no other options.

It's an issue with splash damage in Unity. The devs are working on fixing the code for this.

I think their flying speed is a good way to make night time travel and horde cheesing on a vehicle non-viable.

But the acid spitting is a huge break in the willing suspension of disbelief.

Has anyone found a way to disable the spitting attack in the XML yet?
