How to find Fertilizer?
I've watched a video of some guy who mentioned you can get a lot of it in some white patches (black in map) in the burnt forest but I only get very few.

I also agree that the mats needed for fertilizer isn't very insignificant so I'd rather find them too.

Is there a better way to get fertilizers or do I need a better shovel than stone and iron to get actually get the fertilizer via shovelling?

It's sparse. Probably the least tedious way is with an auger and strip mining the topsoil in the area of the fertilizer

You can find fertilizer in shamway's sometimes otherwise its just dumb luck in places like trash etc. To make fertilizer (takes ages) requires nitrate, turd, durt and water on the chem station if I remember right. Also you can use the cement mixer and put nitrate, dirt, rotten flesh and water. I think that's right anyway lol

Make yourself: collect rotten meat+dirt and nitrate, go to trader with concrete mixer and here you go.
Sometimes you can buy some from the trader...

I dont use turds for vertiliser. Much easier with rotten meat - get a lot at once. Find a trader with a cement mixer - only difficulty.

Ahh I've just looked it up, the cement mixer version uses rotten meat instead of turd. I have yet to find a cement mixer though haha. I am pretty new to this actually. I've played several new games before since I do trial and error and so far I haven't gone far enough to play through a 14th day horde or much to find a cement mixer.

please please please please start using the search box in the crafting menu of the game... holy crap it makes life 100000000000000 times easier. I also use shortcuts to find my most popular stuff, for example:

d fr - wood frames
xe = pickaxe/axes
v - shiv
vel - shovel
bb - cobblestone
rr - arrow
xer - cement mixer

You get the idea... Do yourself an enourmous favour. Start using this absolutely incredible tool. Your life will be SO much better because of it.

I use it a lot actually. I don't know why you assumed otherwise :D Of course, I can only search most items I'm familiar with though since I haven't covered items that are too complicated to make.

Whenever I spend some time in burning forest, I easily pick up 40-50 ... and as an added bonus, thousands of coal, nitrate and oil shale as which is so prevalent there.

But sure, each patch might only give you 5 fertilizer, but with the nitrate you find you could then turn all your rotten meat (or poo) into more fertilizer too :)

Uhm you know, you're probably the same guy who posted that video. I already watched and followed it XD thanks. But I only got 3 fertilizer from my trip. Not sure if it's because I used anything other than a steel shovel, or it's because I'm just unlucky, hahaha.

No worries :D But yeah, patches vary in size. And it's random whether you get the fertilizer when you dig, so for a patch of 10, you could end up with 0, or 10, or anywhere in between :) Early game it's good, late game if you find enough rotten flesh (from hordes) and nitrate, cooking your own in chemistry station works better... or concrete mixer, but then you need to have unlocked those :)
