BAHAHA!
ye..pretty much seems like. it´s 2018 and ladys really play games . back in my days that was a myth or someone male that hoped to get an advantage of chameleoning a female char. but that lady even got that "pro gamer seat of twitch streaming"that attracts sponsors within a 40 mile radius when used ;P
However lately I've seen the game industry quickly adapting to women's tastes on some games, so that there are titles out there (and here on Steam) full of romance stuff and/or cute fluffy things, if you know what I'm referring to. :D
That's where I started heavily using Steam's filter option lol
theres a lot of irony in that "evolution" of games . and game communities also .
reminds me of the first female i saw playing with passion. game was settlers 1 about 1990. it was the mother of my best buddy. she was building stuff while knitting socks and pullovers . when it came to fights she called out for us boys ;P
later it was ultima online in the same style .
and in present it´s still ultima . but were gone now , go fight for youself mom! ;)
her husbands now there too, BUT he doesn´t live in the same (online)house , hes got his own
and refuses to go out with her in that game . why? he don´t wants to get annoyed by her, insulting all the time *rofl*. they´re almost 70 years old btw .
yes that was kinda offtopic now:)
In all fairness though, those fluffy things don't appeal to all lady gamers. Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that 'games' such as Farmville and Candy Crush were dominated by a female player-base and have proven a market for that demographic. But it does not fairly represent the demographic as a whole.
For many female gamers the appeal of a game is much the same as their male counterparts; story, content, game mechanics, etc.
Growing up, most of my gaming experiences were on the Atari, Nintendo and some Sega. But the game that got me truly into gaming as an adult was Zelda Ocarina of Time. It would be years before I could fill that void with The Elder Scrolls and Fallout (and convert to the PC Master Race
no seriously...kinda like it that way to see a Mr. grand spartan alongside a Mrs grand spartan smashing zeds now for example , or a Zombyra with a hellyplaybase(2nd is the lady , not to confuse ) . and thats only a part of 7days community/streamers. and that sharkarooni formerly known as va gijane *giggle*(immature humor? who cares) roaming shooters. and so on and on .fun fact things
